We are honored and excited to share the Indigenous Perinatal Preference Guides, created by lived experts—mothers, aunties, Birthworkers, and nurses! These guides empower Indigenous birthing patients to communicate their preferences, goals, and support systems in a way that is informed, safe, and culturally rooted.

Providers, we encourage you to share these guides with your Indigenous patients to foster respectful, collaborative care that honors tradition and strengthens connections.

Help get CPM licensure across the finish line!
Your voice is needed to bring the Maternal Health Omnibus Legislation (S.2734 / H.4785) to the senate floor for a vote before this session ends! This bill encompasses many issues to help improve maternal health in Massachusetts. And it licenses CPMs! As many of you know I am licensed in Rhode Island because there is no path for a midwifery license in my own state. This bill not only licenses CPMs but allows CPMs to work/ run birth centers and establishes a CPM majority state board that will create the rules and regulations for licensed CPMs. It updates archaic birth center regulations and paves the way for the creation of birth centers across the state. It creates more support for maternal mental health, creates equitable pay for CNMs, mandates parental leave after pregnancy loss, and so much more.
It takes 90 seconds -- faster if you're a good typer :) to support this legislation. We need your help!

Update June 18: Great news! A major maternal health “omnibus” bill is up for a vote on the House floor this Thursday! This is a huge milestone, and YOU helped to get it this far.

“At first it is something that happens to you, then it becomes something you do, then, many months after that, it becomes a relationship between you and ‘someone else.’” ~Ani DiFranco

“If you start to think about the whole line of humanity in your arms, your daughter with her eggs nestled neatly in her tiny ovaries, and the generations upon generations that come with that, your head might explode. Or your heart. With her cradled in the crook of my arm, I’ve pondered the possibility of time travel from my body through hers to those of her descendants. I’ve never felt like part of a whole more than in those reflections.” ♥️
