Leadership, Compassion, and Helpfulness.
This morning, we honored the 2026 Gillooly Funeral Home Scholarship recipients with a breakfast gathering. Pictured here are our scholarship recipients, Casey Collins and Reese Killion, their families, and members of our staff. Casey's award was presented by Jean Turchan, Office Manager. Reese's award was presented by Brian Clougher, Funeral Director Assistant. Each year, two members of the graduating class of Norwood High School are awarded this scholarship based upon their essay describing how they have displayed leadership, compassion, and helpfulness in the community. Congratulations and best wishes to Resse, Casey, and all of the 2026 Graduates!

Memorial Day - originally known as "Decoration Day," the holiday began in the years following the Civil War as a time for communities to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers, wreaths, and flags.
On Saturday morning, a few of us joined dozens of volunteers from the community to place and replace American flags on the graves of veterans resting at Highland Cemetery. We were honored to assist with this important tradition.
