Labor isn’t a competition between the doula and the partner—it’s a partnership! 🤝

Your doula can guide, encourage, suggest comfort techniques, provide hip squeezes and counter-pressure, and help the partner know what to do. Meanwhile, the partner provides the deep emotional connection and love that only they can give. ❤️

Together, they can create a calm, supportive birth environment where Mom feels safe, loved, and empowered.

The doula supports the partner. The partner supports Mom. And together, they support the whole birth experience. 👶✨

Labor Is Intense. You Don’t Have to Do It Alone. 🤍

One of the biggest reasons to hire a doula is comfort.

When labor gets hard, your doula is right there beside you—helping you find your rhythm, stay grounded, and work through each contraction.

✨ We breathe with you when you’re struggling to find your breath.
✨ We remind you to relax your shoulders, soften your jaw, and release tension.
✨ We use hip squeezes to help create counter-pressure during contractions.
✨ We apply counter-pressure to areas that need extra support.
✨ We help with position changes, movement, massage, and other comfort measures.
✨ We encourage you when you feel like you can’t take another contraction.

And sometimes, the most important thing we provide is simply our presence.

You don’t need someone who is going to take over your birth. You need someone who can look you in the eyes and say, “You’re doing it. Breathe. I’m right here.”

Birth can be beautiful, powerful, exciting—and sometimes overwhelming. In the middle of contractions, unfamiliar surroundings, new information, and big emotions, having someone beside you who is there for you continuously can make such a difference.

That’s one of the beautiful roles of a doula. 🫶

Your doula isn’t just there when things get intense. She’s there to encourage you, reassure you, listen to you, help you breathe through the hard moments, celebrate the progress, and remind you of your strength when you need to hear it most.

Your partner may be experiencing the emotions of birth right alongside you. Your medical team may need to step in and out to provide clinical care. But your doula’s focus is YOU.

She can be the calm voice in the room saying:

There is something so special about gathering together in person. 💛

We had such a wonderful time at one of our many in-person Christian Doulas of Michigan gatherings! We shared delicious food, enjoyed relaxing hand wax treatments and foot rubs, laughed together, and most importantly, spent time encouraging one another.

Our network is about so much more than client inquiries or referrals. It’s about building genuine relationships with fellow Christian doulas and birthworkers, pouring into one another, lifting each other up in prayer, and finding strength and encouragement for the work God has called us to do.

Birth work can be beautiful, but it can also be emotionally, physically, and spiritually demanding. That’s why community matters. We believe no birthworker should have to walk this journey alone.

If you’re looking for a Christ-centered community where you’ll be supported, prayed for, and surrounded by others who understand the calling of birth work, we’d love to have you join us.

Pregnancy is an incredible journey, and taking care of your body through proper nutrition and physical fitness can play an important role in supporting your health and well-being throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. 💛

Nourishing your body with nutrient-dense foods helps support your changing body and your growing baby, while safe, appropriate movement can help build strength, support mobility, and prepare your body for the physical demands of birth and motherhood. 🥦🍎🚶‍♀️

Every pregnancy is different, and it’s important to work with your healthcare provider to determine what nutrition and exercise are appropriate for you. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s caring for yourself and your baby with intention, grace, and support. 🙏
