Here’s to you and Thanks for the memories!
When the world hands you lemons, make lemonade.
The first time I heard Brad say that I was really mad at an issue, the builder, then Brad. How was I to accept what I couldn’t change? It wasn’t my fault! I didn’t create and it wasn’t going to end the way I wanted or planned.
It took me a while to actually hear the words, to digest the meaning. I had to let go of the anger first. My expectations were not going to be met and that was unacceptable.
Learning to make the best out of a crappy situation that had nothing to do with me, well that’s practice, that’s yoga. Life is always throwing lemons at us.
Now, I’m looking at lemons making the best lemonade out of a crappy situation.
I was angry at first. It’s hard to say goodbye, it’s even harder when it’s not by choice. Frustration hit next. What do we do? How can we save our yoga community? Desperation came next followed by and lots and lots of prayers, meditation and tears. Acceptance began to flow in. Little by little, awareness, the pile of lemons was getting insurmountable. Despair, how can I possibly squeeze all those lemons!
I prayed and meditated more and I remembered, you don’t do it all at once. Otherwise, the task seems impossible to do. Instead, start with one lemon, one breath, one sun a, one minute of stillness. Once you start, it’s only a matter of time and effort. How far you get in one day is up to you.
Making peace is up to you. It’s inside you waiting to be your friend.
The deepest gratitude to each of you!
Until our paths meet again.
