Robert Edward Thomas

Thomas Edward Roberts, known to those who loved him as Tom, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the age of 81.

He was born on July 8, 1944, in West Warren County, Indiana, and was the loving son of Raleigh and Lydia Roberts. At the age of 4 years old, Thomas's family relocated to Chelsea, Oklahoma where he grew up before embarking on a life defined by service, hard work, and devotion to his family.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany. After his military service, he built a long and successful career in the manufacturing field, spending 16 years at Dowell Schlumberger, and later nine years at Process Manufacturing in Tulsa, Oklahoma before his retirement.

An avid sports fan, Tom enjoyed watching all sports, but he cheered loudest for his favorite teams, the OU Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. When he wasn't watching a game, he loved going fishing and cherished every moment spent making memories with his beloved son Thomas Roberts Jr.

Thomas is survived by his wife Shirley A. Roberts of Nowata, OK; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Roberts Jr., and LaDonna of Ramona, OK; his sister, Betty Bateman of Garber, OK; and his brother, George Roberts of Oklahoma City, OK.

Tom was blessed with four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who loved and adored him.

Services for Thomas will be conducted by Benjamin Funeral Service on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Tom's memory to The Journey Home, 900 NE Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006
