How can something we learn so early in life be so difficult later in life? Our bodies are a " use it or loose it" system. 20 min of walking 2 x times a week has shown to benefit your health. That's not that much! If you walk regularly for work or exercise, "how" you walk is just as important as how much or how long you walk. Improving your understanding and coordination of the gait cycle can reduce your discomfort and improve your efficiency not only now but keep you walking well throughout your life.

I am looking to get a group together regularly on Sunday evenings for Meditation. It will be very open ended and simple. If you have previous meditation experience or a practice you like, you can do that, if you have never meditated before and would like some ideas on "how" to do it, I can provide some ideas. We will sit in a room quietly for a period of time, maybe walk around the room quietly, and then sit again. Nothing fancy, just sitting quietly, doing nothing.

Topics for this week's Awareness Through Movement classes:

Monday July 15th10 am: Legs crossed and expanding chest and abdomen. An easy lesson to free the chest, torso and spine.

Wednesday July 17at 10 am : Lifting the head by reaching with the arms.
A lesson that explores how to engage the trunk to free the neck through the use of the arms. A little more "strenuous" than other lessons, good for those who like to move big!
