Planning a float trip this summer? A few things worth knowing before you launch. 🛶

June water levels can vary a lot depending on snowmelt and recent rain, especially on rivers. Higher and faster water than you expect is one of the most common surprises for paddlers this time of year.

Three things to check before every summer paddle:
✅ Current water levels and flow rate for your specific put-in (most state agencies post this)
✅ Weather not just at your location but upstream, where conditions affect water hours later
✅ Your float plan shared with someone onshore so they know where you are

Pick up a head strap for your sunglasses before you go to help keep them on your head and float if they get washed off!
