***Fun Fact Friday!***

Did you know that a full eyeball transplant isn’t yet possible? While doctors can’t transplant an entire eye and restore vision, they can do corneal transplants! The cornea is the clear front surface of the eye, and replacing a damaged or diseased cornea can help restore vision!

Do your contact lenses feel comfortable in the morning but dry or irritating later in the day?

Recurring contact lens discomfort can have several possible contributing factors. A professional evaluation can help your eye care provider assess your eye surface, eyelids, tear film, lens habits, and other factors that may be affecting your comfort.

The goal is not to guess. It is to understand what may be happening and discuss next steps based on your individual needs.

Schedule your dry eye evaluation with O'Fallon Family Eyecare.

*What made you want to become an eye doctor?
-I was very nearsighted as a child and my vision changed every year. I actually looked forward to seeing my optometrist every year because I know I could leave the appointment with new contacts and better vision.
*What is your favorite part of your job?
-Seeing patients year after year and getting to know them and their families. Once you see a patient several times you start to treat each other like friends.
*What is one eye-health tip everyone should know?
-Using eyelid scrubs every day even if you don’t have any symptoms. Lid scrubs are like brushing your teeth. You do it to prevent problems.
*What is your favorite eye condition to treat or manage?
-Dry eyes. It’s so prevalent and so many patients don’t realize relief is possible. So when we bring relief and help their eyes feel better it is rewarding.
*What do you like to do when you’re not at the office?
-Watch and listen to true-crime documentaries and podcasts.
*What is your favorite food or restaurant?
-Pizza!
*What’s one fun fact about you that patients might not know?
-I like photography and take a lot of photos at my daughter’s soccer games.

Is your vision clear one moment and blurry the next?
Some people experiencing dry eye discomfort notice fluctuating vision, particularly while reading, driving, or using a screen. Blinking may briefly make things appear clearer, only for the blur to return.
These symptoms do not automatically mean you have dry eye. A professional evaluation can help determine what may be affecting your eyes and vision.
Comfort starts with understanding. Book with us today.

Why are your eyes watering when they also feel dry or irritated?

Dry eye discomfort can show up in several ways. Some people notice a gritty or burning sensation. Others experience watering, redness, sensitivity, or vision that becomes blurry and then clears. Because these symptoms can have different possible causes, a professional evaluation is an important first step.

A dry eye evaluation can help identify potential contributing factors and guide a more personalized approach to care.

Schedule your evaluation with O'Fallon Family Eyecare.
