STOP MASSAGING!!!
INJECTORS:
I literally see YOUR patients every day who come to me asking me to correct their lip filler, some because of poor technique or filler choice, but many are because they’ve been told by YOU to massage their lips. I don’t know if it’s a lack of education, simple laziness or the fact that there are so many new injectors out there who simply don’t know what they’re doing?? A weekend warrior course, 10 nurses standing around a chair, each taking a turn to inject the patient once, does NOT make you an injector.
PATIENTS: 🩷
Please stop letting injectors tell you that aggressively massaging your lips after filler should be routine aftercare… “massage till it hurts, if it’s not hurting, you’re doing it wrong” literally post care that was provided by a Nurse Injector, wtf?!
Your filler was strategically placed for a reason. Unnecessary or aggressive massaging can increase swelling and bruising and may affect how freshly placed filler settles, especially when you’re repeatedly pushing and manipulating the product.
A lump, bump or asymmetry does NOT automatically mean: “Just massage it.”
Sometimes it needs time.
Sometimes it’s swelling.
Sometimes it needs to be evaluated.
And sometimes it needs to be corrected.
That is all. Thank you💋
