🦀 Grain-Free Crab Hush Puppies

Looking for a flavorful, grain-free snack? These hush puppies made with cassava flour and crab meat are a must-try! You can even roast them in the oven for a lighter version.

Ingredients:

1 lb potatoes, peeled (about 3 Yukon Gold) 🥔

6 oz crab meat 🦀

1 tsp garlic powder 🧄

1 tsp onion powder 🧅

2 tbsp fresh chives 🌿

1 tsp sea salt 🧂

½ cup cassava flour 🌾

1 large egg, beaten 🥚

24 oz coconut oil for frying 🥥

Instructions:

1. Boil peeled potatoes until fork tender, about 45 minutes. Mash while warm. Set aside 1 lb (about 2½ cups).

2. In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, garlic, onion, salt, and chives. Mix in crab meat, then egg and cassava flour.

3. Form mixture into golf-ball-sized balls.

4. Heat coconut oil in a stovetop fryer over medium heat. Fry hush puppies 4–5 minutes until golden.

Drain on paper towels and enjoy! 🤤
