This work is for those who are ready to face the patterns, protective strategies, relational wounds, and attachment injuries that may be keeping them stuck in cycles that no longer serve them.

Together with our horses, we create opportunities to build trust, safety, connection, and a more fulfilling relationship with yourself and others.

The connection you see between these horses today didn't happen overnight.

Initially, these boys couldn't tolerate being near another horse and barely allowed a select few humans around them—and even then, it wasn't from a place of trust, connection, or softness. Human interaction was simply something they tolerated because it was necessary to get their basic needs met and survive.
Shutdowns, explosive behaviors, and ruptures were common. It was messy. It was humbling.

What you see today is the result of two years of building trust, safety, choice, and connection. Through consistency, agency, and the freedom to be themselves, relational and attachment-based healing has occurred.

This happens with horses. This happens with humans.

Is it the baby blues, PPD, or PPA? 💭

Maternal mental health doesn’t look just one way, and symptoms can show up anytime during pregnancy or postpartum.

What you’re feeling might be:
• Baby Blues
• Depression
• Anxiety
✳️ Perinatal Mental Health Disorders also include OCD, bipolar mood disorders, PTSD, and psychosis. ✳️

The Baby Blues are short-term dips in mood caused by the changes of having a baby, and typically dissipate on their own. Depression and anxiety are common, temporary, and treatable, but they do require support.

Too often, parents experience symptoms like: irritability, racing thoughts, guilt, sadness, intrusive thoughts, or constant worry… and don’t realize there’s a name for it.

When we connect the dots, we make maternal mental health visible.
And when it’s visible, it becomes treatable, supportable, and understood.

💙 If you see yourself in this, you are not alone
💙 If you recognize this in someone else, check in

Building trust, safety, and connection with every interaction. Sometimes I am successful and other times I learn some good lessons in relational skills and I try again.

This is one of my favorite spots to slow down, check in, recharge and reset my nervous system. What an honor and privilege it is to feel the sun on my skin, warmth in my bones, solid grassy ground under my body all while getting to coexist and regulate in partnership with these special horses.

Therapy is hard work but at Wild Opal, we make sure to sprinkle in some glittery moments that serve up like soup for the soul.
Curious? Feeling the call to try something new?

Don't hold your horses! Just trot right on over to the link in my bio and schedule an outdoor or equine assisted therapy session!
Offering therapy for individuals, couples, and groups.

We sure hope to see you!

Excited to announce I have a few openings! This is a perfect time of year for some outdoor therapy or equine-assisted psychotherapy!

💚Hi, I’m Dani, and I offer mental health therapy throughout Washington via telehealth and in-person on Whidbey Island (Oak Harbor & Coupeville).

I currently have a few openings and very soon I’ll be sharing some outdoor-based group offerings for the (mostly) sunny season ahead. ☀️ This time of year, most in-person sessions take place outside — walking or sitting (near horses) in a calm, quiet, warm, and grounded environment.

In addition to psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy, I also offer equine-assisted psychotherapy (with my equine professional partner Destiny Miller) for those looking for more somatic-based, nervous-system focused, experiential support.

Whether you’re navigating anything between preconception-postpartum, anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, complex trauma, overwhelm and burnout, stress from relational and generational patterns or attachment-based wounds, identity shifts, or simply needing more support to reset your nervous system and find your inner spark again, you don’t have to do it alone.

The horse pictured here is Klee 🐴 — one of our wonderful therapy horses. Working alongside horses can help support nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, connection, and healing in a very real and gentle way.

If you’d like to learn more or schedule a free consultation call, feel free to reach out via email at 📧 [email protected] or visit my website www.opalmindbody.com to submit a contact request form 🌿

(Please note that I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance. More info on policies and fees can be found on my website)

Grateful to be part of this community and for the opportunity to support women through some of life’s hardest and most meaningful moments.
