Therapists are often asked to support families as they navigate school concerns, but 504 Plans and IEPs can feel confusing without the right context.

Join us for A Therapist Guide to 504 and IEPs, led by Brian Anerino, a Mosaic therapist with 22 years of experience in social work.

This training will help mental health professionals better understand the differences between 504 Plans and IEPs, the eligibility process, school-based supports, and how therapists can communicate with families and school teams while staying within their professional scope.

Feeding a baby can come with so many emotions, questions, opinions, and expectations.

The Collaboration for Early Childhood recently shared a podcast episode on breastfeeding, offering a thoughtful conversation for parents and caregivers navigating this part of early childhood.

We love seeing resources like this in the community because the postpartum season can feel full, physically, emotionally, and mentally. Having access to honest conversations and supportive spaces can make a real difference.

Hi, I’m Francesca Stroilia, a therapist with Mosaic Counseling & Wellness in Orland Park. 🌿

When a child is struggling at school, it can be hard to know what is behavioral, what is emotional, what support is needed, and where to even begin.

That’s where my background as both a therapist and former school social worker can help. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate school concerns, IEPs, emotional dysregulation, executive functioning, and the bigger questions families are often carrying behind the scenes.

My hope is to help kids, teens, young adults, and families feel more supported, understood, and less alone as they figure out what comes next.

Taking the first step can feel like a lot, but it is something to be proud of.

A little Hemingway District Oak Park love from Alejandra. 🌈

While stopping by Village and Vessel to shop local, Alejandra Reyes, one of our Mosaic clinicians, brought Pride flags and shared our support for the small businesses, shops, and restaurants that make this district feel so welcoming and connected.

As construction continues in the area, showing up for local businesses matters. Sometimes that looks like grabbing lunch, buying a gift, stopping in to say hello, or reminding neighbors that we’re all still here.

Grateful to be part of this community and to keep supporting the businesses around us.

What's one phrase about mental health you heard growing up that you wish we'd retire? “Lo que pasa aquí se queda aquí.”

For many people, phrases like this can quietly teach us to hide what we’re struggling with, even when support is exactly what we need.

Hilda shares a thoughtful reflection on silence, shame, and why talking about mental health should not feel like betrayal.

You are allowed to ask for support. You are allowed to be honest about what you’re carrying.

What does culturally responsive therapy look like in a real session, not just as a concept?

Aisha Bell-Robinson puts it this way: “Clients experience this as feeling heard and feeling seen for the whole of who they are.”

That includes the visible and less visible parts of identity that shape a person’s life, race, gender, spirituality, socioeconomic status, lived experience, family, community, and more.

In therapy, culturally responsive care creates space for clients to explore all parts of who they are as valid, connected, and meaningful to their mental health and wellness.

This work also asks clinicians to keep expanding their lens through training, continued education, humility, and ethical self-awareness. Because feeling seen in therapy should include the whole of who you are.

Kyla Marie reflected on how meaningful it was to be part of a space like WMHPA, where providers connect in real, collaborative ways.

WMHPA is a grassroots-led collective of women mental health providers who gather each month to share resources, support one another, and strengthen the care happening across our communities. Founder Kristen Powell recognized the value of collaboration among practitioners and created a network where that can thrive.

We were glad to connect with new community partners including Gentle Roots Behavior Consulting, Amen Clinics, The Lilac Alliance LLC, and Hopemark Health.

When providers have opportunities to connect and learn from one another, our communities are truly stronger for it. We look forward to gathering again soon.

A reminder that our Maternal Wellness Support Group begins this Friday.

Whether you're soaking in the sweet moments, feeling overwhelmed, or wondering if anyone else feels the way you do—you belong here.

Our Maternal Wellness Support Group is a welcoming, peer-led space where parents can connect with others who understand this season of life. We'll share honestly about the challenges, celebrate the wins, and remind one another that we’re not alone.

This isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about having a space where you can show up exactly as you are.

Join us for our first group, or come whenever you’re ready. We look forward to creating this space together.
