ARIS at home

ARIS at home ARIS provides quality, compassionate, in home care for you or a loved one. The difference is in our name. That is when the idea of ARIS at home became a reality!

ARIS is proud to stand for a new level of private home care focused on the values that fit you and your family's needs. The ARIS Story Told by Travis Slaby - Co-Owner

ARIS at home officially opened for business February 8, 2011. Before ARIS became a company, Co-owner, Dan Grycza, and I met while working for a medical home care company in 2006. We both shared the passion for providing quality home

care to clients in their own homes and strived every day to make sure our clients at the time had proper care. In 2010, we both realized there was a vast population of people needing non-medical home care and thought maybe we could “join forces” in a business that focuses on just that.... non-medical in home care. To understand what ARIS is about, you have to get to know the people of this company. I, Travis Slaby, have been interested in helping people since I can remember. My mother has been a caregiver my whole entire life so I guess you can say it was in my family genes. She was actually a big part of this company for many years before she retired at the end of 2020. It fills my heart with joy to know I can make a difference in a person’s life. I know that sounds cheesy, but it is true. I actually started out doing internet marketing right out of college. That didn’t work out and in 2002 I was told about a job opening in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio for a “Healthcare Recruiter” position. I figured if I landed that job I can keep afloat and continue to look for another one that was right for me. Well, it turned out that was the right job for me. The normal definition of “Healthcare Recruiter” was not attached to this job. Yes, we did recruit RNs, LPNs and caregivers, but most of the job was managing our home care client’s caregiver schedules and solving many different problems and situations every day. It was hard work, but I fell in love with it when I started hearing the sincere “thank you” time and time again from my clients and employees when I came to their aide due to a problem. I fell in love that year with home care and 13 months later that dedication brought me to Chicago where I was promoted to take over one of my company’s home care offices in Oak Park. The rest is history. I have been in Chicago for many years and have done nothing but home health care. Everything from recruiting, scheduling and business development. Dan Grycza has been involved in providing service to people for many years as well. His service career began as a server in a restaurant. He has always enjoyed being able to please people and bring a smile to their face. He has been in home health care since 2006, with his first position being a home health care recruiter/scheduler. Dan possesses that passion for prolonging the quality of life to this day. Charmain Coleman is our Director of Home Services. Charmain started with ARIS at the very beginning as a caregiver in the field. Charmain quickly became a vital part of the ARIS team in the field. Her dedication, reliability and compassion was on display each and every day she worked with her clients. In 2012, Charmain was promoted to part of our office staff as our Home Care Liaison. In 2015, our Director stepped down to take a more educational role and appointed Charmain the new Director of Home Services. Charmain’s focus on the client’s well being is surpassed by no-one and even steps into the field to perform care if needed. Tawana King is our Home Services Liaison. Now, that title does not give Tawana credit for the multiple hats she wears. Tawana works to recruit new caregivers, schedule current caregivers, provides HR support, assists our clients with their concerns, along with anything else that is needed. Oh, also, did I mention she is a certified nursing assistant and provides care for our clients if needed. she is a essential part of the ARIS team! Our Caregivers in the field are the true heroes of ARIS at home. We strive to hire the most compassionate caregivers that prove to us they have the experience to provide the care each of our clients deserve. Many of our caregivers are Certified Nursing Assistants and prefer the 1 on 1 focused care of In Home Care that facilities cannot provide. We are also very proud of our Non-CNA caregivers, which are fully qualified, wonderful caregivers that are dedicated to their clients. We have a saying at ARIS....”Our clients AND our caregivers are #1!”

Caregiving is the most important job that nobody sees.

It’s not just "checking in." It’s medication management, meal prep, mobility assistance, laundry, and—most importantly—emotional support. It’s a 24/7 mental load that never turns off.

If your "to-do" list feels like it belongs to three different people, Aris is here to take the heavy lifting off your plate.

Letting someone into your home is a big decision. Here are 5 things you should ALWAYS ask:

1️⃣ Are your caregivers background-checked and insured?
2️⃣ How do you match a caregiver to a family?
3️⃣ Is there a minimum number of hours?
4️⃣ Do you provide specialized memory care?
5️⃣ Are you family-owned and local? (Aris is!)

At ARIS at home, we are open about how we operate because we want you to have total peace of mind.

"I just need a minute" usually means "I need a week-long nap and a quiet room." 😅

We speak the language of caregivers. We know that when you say "it's fine," it usually means you're just powering through. You don't have to power through alone.

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. At ARIS at Home, we're privileged to serve many veterans and their families, and we're reminded daily of the values they fought to protect—courage, compassion, and community.

This Memorial Day, we remember those who gave everything so we could live freely. To the families of the fallen, thank you for your sacrifice. Your loved ones will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸❤️
