ARIS at home

ARIS at home ARIS provides quality, compassionate, in home care for you or a loved one. The difference is in our name. That is when the idea of ARIS at home became a reality!

ARIS is proud to stand for a new level of private home care focused on the values that fit you and your family's needs. The ARIS Story Told by Travis Slaby - Co-Owner

ARIS at home officially opened for business February 8, 2011. Before ARIS became a company, Co-owner, Dan Grycza, and I met while working for a medical home care company in 2006. We both shared the passion for providing quality home

care to clients in their own homes and strived every day to make sure our clients at the time had proper care. In 2010, we both realized there was a vast population of people needing non-medical home care and thought maybe we could “join forces” in a business that focuses on just that.... non-medical in home care. To understand what ARIS is about, you have to get to know the people of this company. I, Travis Slaby, have been interested in helping people since I can remember. My mother has been a caregiver my whole entire life so I guess you can say it was in my family genes. She was actually a big part of this company for many years before she retired at the end of 2020. It fills my heart with joy to know I can make a difference in a person’s life. I know that sounds cheesy, but it is true. I actually started out doing internet marketing right out of college. That didn’t work out and in 2002 I was told about a job opening in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio for a “Healthcare Recruiter” position. I figured if I landed that job I can keep afloat and continue to look for another one that was right for me. Well, it turned out that was the right job for me. The normal definition of “Healthcare Recruiter” was not attached to this job. Yes, we did recruit RNs, LPNs and caregivers, but most of the job was managing our home care client’s caregiver schedules and solving many different problems and situations every day. It was hard work, but I fell in love with it when I started hearing the sincere “thank you” time and time again from my clients and employees when I came to their aide due to a problem. I fell in love that year with home care and 13 months later that dedication brought me to Chicago where I was promoted to take over one of my company’s home care offices in Oak Park. The rest is history. I have been in Chicago for many years and have done nothing but home health care. Everything from recruiting, scheduling and business development. Dan Grycza has been involved in providing service to people for many years as well. His service career began as a server in a restaurant. He has always enjoyed being able to please people and bring a smile to their face. He has been in home health care since 2006, with his first position being a home health care recruiter/scheduler. Dan possesses that passion for prolonging the quality of life to this day. Charmain Coleman is our Director of Home Services. Charmain started with ARIS at the very beginning as a caregiver in the field. Charmain quickly became a vital part of the ARIS team in the field. Her dedication, reliability and compassion was on display each and every day she worked with her clients. In 2012, Charmain was promoted to part of our office staff as our Home Care Liaison. In 2015, our Director stepped down to take a more educational role and appointed Charmain the new Director of Home Services. Charmain’s focus on the client’s well being is surpassed by no-one and even steps into the field to perform care if needed. Tawana King is our Home Services Liaison. Now, that title does not give Tawana credit for the multiple hats she wears. Tawana works to recruit new caregivers, schedule current caregivers, provides HR support, assists our clients with their concerns, along with anything else that is needed. Oh, also, did I mention she is a certified nursing assistant and provides care for our clients if needed. she is a essential part of the ARIS team! Our Caregivers in the field are the true heroes of ARIS at home. We strive to hire the most compassionate caregivers that prove to us they have the experience to provide the care each of our clients deserve. Many of our caregivers are Certified Nursing Assistants and prefer the 1 on 1 focused care of In Home Care that facilities cannot provide. We are also very proud of our Non-CNA caregivers, which are fully qualified, wonderful caregivers that are dedicated to their clients. We have a saying at ARIS....”Our clients AND our caregivers are #1!”

The ARIS name is an acronym for Accountability, Respect, Integrity and Service. OUR MISSION

☕ Read that again. Slowly. You're allowed to take a break.

Not when everything is perfectly handled. Not when you've found the right time. Not when you stop feeling guilty about it.

Now. As you are. With everything still on your plate. 💙

Because here's what nobody tells caregivers enough — stepping away for a few hours doesn't make you less devoted. It doesn't mean you love them any less. It means you're human, and humans need rest to keep going.

That's exactly what Respite Care is for. Someone trusted steps in, your loved one is in good hands, and you get to just… breathe. No guilt required. 🙏

Go to that appointment you've been rescheduling. Take a nap that actually counts. Have a meal with both hands free. Do absolutely nothing if that's what you need.

We'll be there. 💛 ARIS at home is family-owned, non-medical in-home care — available 24/7, because caregivers don't get to pick when they need a break.

😅 Ah yes. The classic. "I don't need help." Said with full confidence. While you're quietly doing everything. 😂

If you've ever tried to bring up outside help for a parent who is absolutely, completely, 100% fine and does NOT need anyone, thank you very much — you already know how that conversation goes. 💙

Here's the thing though — you don't have to pitch it as "help." You don't have to convince them they're struggling. You just need a gentle way in.

Try this: "I hear you. Let's just start with someone who helps around the house so I can be your daughter/son again — not your exhausted staff."

That's it. No big speech. No battle of wills. Just a small, low-stakes first step that lets them keep their independence AND gives you both something back — the relationship you actually want to have. 💛

Start with companionship. Build trust. Let the rest follow naturally.

ARIS at home has helped a lot of families navigate exactly this conversation — and we're happy to help yours too.

😅 You know that one person in every group project who ends up doing absolutely everything while everyone else just… doesn't?

Yeah. That's caregiving.

You showed up. You're still showing up. Every single day — the appointments, the phone calls, the paperwork, the worrying, the everything — while it somehow all landed on you. 😔

And maybe you're not even bitter about it. Maybe you've just quietly accepted that this is just how it is now.

But here's the thing — it doesn't have to be. 💙

Whether the rest of the family can't help, won't help, or lives too far away to help, you deserve a partner in this. Someone who actually shows up, does the work, and takes a real piece of this off your plate so you can stop running on fumes.

ARIS at home is ready to be that partner. We'll show up — consistently, reliably, and with genuine care — so you're never the only one in the room again.

💙 Think about what your loved one's day actually looks like right now.

Are they getting enough conversation? Enough connection? Are they sitting alone more than they should be — not because anyone stopped loving them, but because life just got so busy and so hard? 😔

Loneliness is one of the biggest — and least talked about — challenges for seniors aging at home. And the truth is, what they often need most isn't just someone to help with tasks.

They need a friend.

Someone who shows up, actually listens, shares a laugh over lunch, and makes the day feel a little less quiet. Someone who handles the meals, the errands, the little things around the house — but does it with genuine warmth, not just obligation.

That's what Companion Care through ARIS at home looks like. 💛

✅ Real conversation + connection
✅ Meals, errands & light housekeeping
✅ A safer, less lonely day at home

Your loved one deserves more than just to be taken care of. They deserve to feel seen, heard, and genuinely enjoyed. 🥰

🙋 Quick question — when did your loved one last have a hot meal they didn't have to make themselves? Or get outside for a walk just because it felt good?

Sometimes the biggest difference in someone's day isn't medical. It's just… having someone there. 💙

That's exactly what Companion Care is all about — and honestly, it might be the thing your family has been missing without even realizing it.

Here's what it can look like:
🍲 Meal prep
🧹 Light housekeeping
🛒 Errands & groceries
👟 Walks & outings
🧺 Laundry
💊 Medication reminders

No huge commitments. No overwhelming changes. Just real, practical support that makes everyday life a little lighter — for your loved one and for you.

Because sometimes the help you need isn't complicated. It's just someone showing up consistently and actually caring. And that? We're really good at. 😊

💙 Are you the one everyone else leans on… but you have no one to lean on yourself?

Caring for an aging parent is a role nobody truly prepares you for. One day you're their kid, and the next you're managing medications, doctor appointments, sleepless nights, and emotions you don't even have words for yet.

It's a lot. And doing it completely alone? That's even more. 😔

Here's what we want you to know today: you don't have to. There are people who get it, resources that actually help, and a community of families walking the exact same road — just waiting to tell you "me too."

That's exactly what ARIS at home is here for. Tips that actually work. Relief you can actually feel. And people you can actually call when you don't know what to do next.

You showed up for your parent. Let us show up for you. ⭐

🙋 Raise your hand if at least one of these sounds familiar…

We didn't make these up. These are real words from real families — people who were exactly where you might be right now. Doing their best, giving everything they had, and somewhere along the way realizing they'd been running on empty for way too long.

The one that gets us every time? "Remembered I'm a person too." 💔

Because somewhere between the appointments, the medications, the sleepless nights, and the constant worry — it's so easy to lose yourself completely. And nobody talks about that part enough.

So consider this your reminder today: You still matter. Your needs still count. And asking for help isn't giving up — it's finally giving yourself permission to breathe. 💙

ARIS at home is here to help you start small, plan ahead, and never have to white-knuckle this journey alone again.

Maybe you've been going back and forth for weeks. Maybe you've almost called a dozen times. Maybe you keep telling yourself you'll figure it out on your own just a little longer. 😅

We get it. Starting something new — especially when it involves your loved one — is a big deal. And it's okay to take your time.

But here's the thing… what if you could try it with less risk? No giant commitment. No pressure. Just a chance to see if in-home care actually feels right for your family — and save 20% while you do it. 💙

💙 Real talk from real families — and honestly? This one stings a little.

We've had hundreds of conversations with caregivers over the years, and when we ask what they wish they'd done differently… the answers are almost always the same.

They didn't wish they'd researched more. They didn't wish they'd tried harder. They wished they'd asked for help sooner. 💔

If any of these hit close to home, that's okay. It means you're human. And it means right now — today — is a great time to take that first step.

You don't have to wait for a crisis. You don't have to burn out before you reach out. And you are absolutely, 100% still a person with needs that matter. 🙌

ARIS at home is here whenever you're ready — whether that's a small first step or a full care plan. No pressure. Just real support.

💬 "You're so strong." — said everyone. Ever.

And while we know it comes from a good place… what caregivers actually need isn't a compliment. It's a hand. 🙌

The truth is, most people don't know what to say — and even fewer know what to do. But at ARIS at home, showing up with actual help is kind of our whole thing.

Whether it's giving you a few hours to breathe, helping with daily care, or just being a reliable presence your loved one can count on — we're not here to tell you how amazing you are. We're here to prove it by helping.

You've been carrying this long enough. Let someone carry it with you. 💙
