We’re wired to notice a new spot on our face, while areas such as the scalp, ears and tops of the hands can be easier to overlook.

Part 2 takes us inside the next stage of the Mohs process. The tissue is embedded in a cryostat, where freezing medium helps hold it in place so thin sections can be prepared for examination under a microscope.

Careful preparation preserves the tissue’s orientation and helps the doctor identify where skin cancer cells may remain. Follow for more dermatologist-led education.

Skincare myths are persistent, and following the wrong advice can sometimes make a concern worse. Here are four we often hear:

Myth: Acne means your skin is dirty.
Fact: Acne can involve oil production, clogged pores, inflammation, bacteria and hormonal factors. Scrubbing harder may cause more irritation.

Myth: Darker skin tones do not need skin checks.
Fact: Skin cancer can affect every skin tone, and suspicious or changing areas should be professionally evaluated.

Myth: A base tan protects your skin.
Fact: A tan is a sign of UV damage and does not replace sunscreen or other sun-protection measures.

Myth: All dark spots are the same.
Fact: Pigmentation can have different causes, so the appropriate treatment depends on an accurate evaluation.

What happens to the tissue after it is removed during Mohs surgery?

In the first part of the process, our Mohs histotechnologist carefully prepares, orients and colour-codes the tissue. These markings help preserve its exact position, so the doctor can identify the specific area if additional skin cancer is found under the microscope.

Follow for Part 2, where we show how the tissue is embedded, frozen and prepared for examination.

From California to Florida for her CO₂. ✈️

This patient Roseville -300 Harding Blvd Suite 112 traveled across the country to see us with one specific concern: the texture and crepiness beneath her eyes.

For her treatment, Dr. Chaplik performed fully ablative CO₂ resurfacing with the Lumenis UltraPulse—precisely targeting the delicate under-eye area to improve texture, soften fine lines and stimulate deep collagen remodeling for firmer, smoother-looking skin.

Fully ablative resurfacing is an investment in your skin—and yes, it comes with real downtime. But for the right patient and the right concerns, the results can be transformative.

Kind of chic to travel for your laser, too. ✨

There are a lot of treatment names out there, and it’s easy to focus on the device instead of the concern. Pigmentation, redness, texture and laxity may require different approaches, so we start by assessing your skin and determining which option may be appropriate for you.

When someone points to a single line and asks for one fix, the honest answer is often more comprehensive. The face changes across multiple layers from the skin’s surface to the underlying bone and structural support.

A thoughtful treatment plan considers the whole picture and addresses each layer in the right order. Often, the best first step is improving skin quality, well before considering injectables.

People often wait too long to seek care because the concern doesn’t hurt. But skin changes don’t have to be painful to deserve attention. If something is changing, not healing, or simply worrying you, that’s reason enough to have it professionally evaluated.

Save this as a reminder the next time you find yourself thinking, “It’s probably nothing.”

This transformation showcases the results of a Morpheus8 Burst Face & Neck treatment. When we talk about "Burst" mode, we are referring to an advanced delivery of radiofrequency energy. Instead of traditional, singular pulses, this technology delivers energy at multiple depths simultaneously in a single cycle.

Why does this matter?
1. Collagen Optimization: It triggers a deeper, more robust contraction of the skin, which is essential for tightening the jawline and neck.
2. Efficiency: It allows us to treat deeper tissue layers with more precision and less downtime.
3. Restoration: This isn't just about surface smoothing; it’s about structural remodeling. We are rebuilding the skin’s architecture from the inside out.

Results like these are the product of combining the right technology with a tailored plan and having the ✨best✨ provider:

If you’re working out consistently but still struggling with stubborn areas, EMSCULPT® may be the boost you’ve been looking for.

EMSCULPT® uses high-intensity electromagnetic energy to trigger powerful muscle contractions that aren’t possible through voluntary exercise alone. These contractions help strengthen and tone muscles while also supporting fat reduction in the treated area.

Common treatment areas include:
✔️ Abdomen
✔️ Buttocks
✔️ Arms
✔️ Thighs

What to expect:
• Non-invasive treatment
• No needles or downtime
• Sessions typically last about 30 minutes
• You can return to your normal activities immediately afterward

While EMSCULPT® is not a weight-loss treatment, it can help improve muscle definition and body contour when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.

Curious if you’re a good candidate? Schedule a consultation with our team to create a personalized treatment plan.
