About 15 years ago I heard white supremacy named as a spiritual dysfunction and disconnection, not just a political system, not just a set of policies. I didn’t fully understand it at the time but I am slowly starting to as I continue to do my own healing.
That insight came from Dr. Enoch Page, a transgender anthropologist and one of the founding voices of whiteness studies, whose work on decolonizing anthropology gave language to something many of us had felt but couldn’t fully name.
When we understand white supremacy as a cosmological rupture, as a severing from sacred obligations to land, ancestors, and community, it changes how we understand the harm it produces. It doesn’t just hoard power. It erases other worlds. It fears the sacred feminine. It pathologizes gender fluidity that Indigenous peoples have honored for generations. It replaces relational intelligence with hierarchy and domination. It fears connection.
This carousel is an offering in that tradition of naming.
Healing is not just therapy. It’s remembering who we were before the interruption.
