"Growing pains" is a term that gets used quite broadly, and understanding what it actually means can help you know when there's something more worth looking into.

Progress with chiropractic care is not always a straight line, and that is completely normal. The nervous system requires repeated, consistent input to shift ingrained movement patterns, which means some visits are about reinforcing progress rather than creating it. Some days you will feel noticeably better, and others you may feel about the same. The improvements that matter most tend to build quietly before they become obvious.

Recreational athletes often assume they should push through minor aches, treating them as a normal part of training. In many cases, those recurring twinges or stiffness after a workout are signals that something in the spine or pelvis is not moving as efficiently as it should be. Addressing those patterns early tends to support better performance and reduces the likelihood of a more significant issue developing over time. Let us take a look at what your body might be telling you. Dr. Rehl has years of experience helping people recover from sports injuries.

Not every adjustment looks or sounds the same, and that is intentional. In our clinic, we use the Structural Corrective method, a combination of techniques suited to your individual circumstances for what needs to be adjusted, so we get to the root cause of your health issues. Instrument assisted adjusting allows the practitioner to safely, effectively and gently adjust while protecting his or her own body. One never hears the "pop" of the joint as gasses release that can occur with manual adjusting. Drop table technique uses a dedicated section of the treatment table that gives way slightly as the adjustment is delivered, allowing the correction to happen with noticeably less force than a traditional manual thrust. Both by instrument and Drop Table are useful options for sensitive areas or for patients who prefer a gentler approach. Let us know if you have questions about what technique we are using in your care.

The atlas is the topmost vertebra in the spine, and it sits at the base of the skull supporting the full weight of the head. Even a small degree of misalignment here can affect the way the brainstem functions and how nerve signals travel through to the rest of the body and from the body back to the brain. It is one of the smallest bones in the spine and one of the most influential. Ask us about it at your next visit.

The people closest to you already trust your judgment. If chiropractic care has made a difference in how you feel or move, a simple mention to a friend or family member could be the nudge they need to finally try it. We always take good care of the people our patients send our way. Have them give us a call. We'd be happy to speak with them about what we do and how we can help.

The nervous system is remarkably adaptable, which is both a strength and a challenge when it comes to spinal care. When patterns of restriction have been present for a long time, the brain learns to work around them rather than correct them. Regular adjustments give the nervous system consistent, accurate input, helping it relearn what normal movement actually feels like. That is why the benefits of care tend to compound the longer you stay with it.

A lot of people assume chiropractic care is only useful once pain is already significant. In reality, many of the most impactful visits happen in the earlier stages, before compensation patterns have had time to settle in. If something feels a little off but has not become a major problem yet, that is often the ideal time to come in. Get checked, why wait! When someone in your area is searching for a chiropractor for the first time, they are likely reading reviews before they make a single call. A genuine account from a patient who was unsure at first and found real relief can be the deciding factor for someone who needs it. If our care has made a difference for you, sharing your experience is one of the most generous things you can do.

Our initial assessments go well beyond a quick conversation about symptoms. We look to see if you have Normal or Dysfunctional Structure: your posture, range of motion, and how the spine is functioning as a system, so we can identify not just where the problem is but what is actually driving it. If you have been managing discomfort for a while without clear answers, a thorough assessment could be a useful first step. Reach out and let's get started. Call us at (510) 428-9288 to book your appointment today!
