Treatments include acupuncture, herbal medicine, homeopathy, bodywork, guided imagery, movement, and nutritional therapies. These healing modalities have been shown to help the immune system recover from the harsh but necessary and life-saving treatments of Western medici

ne. Most importantly, these treatments generally are not known or not financially accessible to women who are low-income and uninsured. Our community of over 230 clients, 160 volunteers, and 5 staff includes monolingual, bilingual, differently abled, and women of color. We serve low-income women with any kind of cancer, whether it be breast cancer, cervical cancer, metastatic cancer, ovarian cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, colon cancer, etc.

Born on this day in 1932, we honor Charlotte—a woman whose compassion, resilience, and vision continue to uplift countless lives.

From her work in public health and leadership at the American Cancer Society to her deeply personal cancer journey, Charlotte believed in a more compassionate, holistic approach to care. Surrounded by a team of women practitioners, she experienced the power of integrative healing—and dreamed that all women, regardless of income, could access the same support.

That vision lives on through the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic, which has provided free, complementary care to thousands of low-income women with cancer.

Today, we celebrate her legacy and the impact she continues to make. Help us carry her vision forward by supporting our birthday fundraiser.
