Most people think TCM and acupuncture are the same thing. They're not.

Acupuncture is one tool inside a complete medical system that has been refined over 3,000 years. A system with its own diagnostic framework, its own pharmacopeia, its own understanding of how the human body works.

I just spent 10 days in Hangzhou, China, one of the oldest centers of TCM practice in the world, watching this medicine move through every part of daily life. The food. The tea. The movement practices at dawn. The herb markets. The hospitals.

This carousel is my attempt to explain what TCM actually is, beyond the needles.

Save this one. Share it with someone who keeps asking you what acupuncture is. 🌿

Well, I’ve been back since April 22nd, but I came back to a fully booked clinic and the kind of jet lag that makes you question what time zone your brain is in. The words and the reels just had to wait.

10 days in Hangzhou, China. The most beautiful, humbling, and expansive continuing education experience of my career.

I came home with 50 CEUs, more tea than I can reasonably drink, and something that is harder to quantify, a relationship with this medicine that feels fundamentally different than it did before.

Over the next several weeks, I am sharing everything: the clinics, the doctors, the herbs at the source, the food, the morning Qi Gong. The medicine practiced the way it was meant to be practiced.

And in honor of AAPI Heritage Month, I cannot think of a better time to talk about a healing tradition that has sustained communities across Asia for thousands of years, and I know have had the profound honor of studying again at its source.

Stay tuned.

Fertility is often reduced to timing, but there is so much more beneath the surface.

In Chinese Medicine, we look at the full picture. Supporting qi, blood, yin, and jing helps create the internal conditions needed for reproductive health.

Even during times when routines shift or things feel uncertain, small, consistent support can still make a difference.

You don’t have to figure it out on your own. Thoughtful, individualized care can help you move forward in a way that feels grounded and supported.
If you’re ready to explore what that could look like, we’re here to help.

Spring is Liver season in Traditional Chinese Medicine 🌿

And if you’ve been feeling...
- More irritable than usual
- Bloated or constipated
- PMS that’s worse than normal
- Tension headaches
- Wired but exhausted
..your Liver qi might be asking for attention.

In TCM, the Liver is responsible for the smooth flow of qi and blood throughout the body. When it’s under stress; from poor sleep, alcohol, processed foods, or emotional tension, that flow gets stuck.

For women with PCOS, endometriosis, or hormonal imbalances, Liver qi stagnation can make everything worse: heavier periods, more pain, mood swings, irregular cycles.

Spring is actually the BEST time to support your Liver:
🥬 Eat more leafy greens (dandelion, arugula, kale)
🚶‍♀️ Gentle daily movement; walks, yoga, stretching
😴 Prioritize sleep before midnight (Liver regenerates 11pm–3am in TCM)
🌿 Acupuncture to move stagnation and regulate hormones
☕ Liver-supportive herbs: milk thistle, dandelion root, schisandra

Your hormones are deeply connected to your Liver. Give it some love this spring 💚
