Decatur Health is excited to share the expansion of our partnership with InReach Rehab — a collaboration that strengthens rehabilitation services for patients in Oberlin and across northwest Kansas.
Beginning August 1, 2026, this enhanced partnership brings new resources to our local rehabilitation team, including structured mentorship, continuing education, and support for program development. These tools help ensure our therapists continue to grow professionally while keeping high‑quality care close to home.
This expansion is about more than added resources, it’s about long‑term sustainability, organizational growth, and strengthening services our patients rely on every day. InReach Rehab’s expertise in aligning goals, improving outcomes, and supporting rural hospitals will help Decatur Health respond to the evolving rehabilitation needs of our region.
Most importantly, this partnership allows us to maintain the dedicated therapists our patients know and trust, while giving them additional support to enhance care locally. By combining local experience with expanded resources, we’re building a stronger, more resilient rehabilitation program for the future.

Today we recognize Sandy Zeigler as she retires after 21 years of dedicated service as a Food Services Cook at Decatur Health.

Sandy has been a reliable and hardworking member of our Food Services team, ensuring patients and staff received consistent, quality meals every day. Her commitment to her role and her steady presence in the kitchen have supported our operations for more than two decades.

We appreciate the time, effort, and dependability Sandy has brought to Decatur Health throughout her career. Please join us in congratulating her on her retirement and wishing her the very best in this next chapter. 💙

We are proud to recognize Tammy Touslee, Clinic Nurse Coordinator, for the essential role she plays in keeping our clinic running smoothly and ensuring patients receive timely, coordinated care.
Tammy is the person patients, families, and staff trust to get things done. She supports clinic operations in every direction to rooming patients, assisting providers, coordinating with specialists, transporting patients to the Emergency Room when needed, and stepping in as a staff nurse.
Her calm leadership, quick response to needs, and ability to connect people with the right resources make a meaningful difference every day. Tammy’s work strengthens our clinic, supports our providers, and helps ensure our community receives dependable, compassionate care close to home.

We have partnered with High Plains Mental Health Center to bring two presentations about Trauma Informed Care to our community. On October 12th, the first presentation will be from noon to 4:00 PM at the DCHS Library. The second presentation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Decatur Health Dining Hall.
