When Right At Home Anne Arundel County client and veteran Mr. Thomas spent a night in the hospital, Community Relations Coordinator Kimi-Roux James stopped by to check on him and deliver a care package. Mr. Thomas shared that the visit "perked him up," and even noted that the teddy bear included in the package reminded him of his daughter's collection.

During their conversation, Kimi-Roux learned that Mr. Thomas was just days away from celebrating his 100th birthday. The team quickly came together to make sure the occasion didn't go unnoticed. Alongside a family celebration complete with dinner and cake, Right at Home presented him with a 100-Year Milestone Certificate to recognize this remarkable achievement.

What started as a simple hospital visit became an opportunity to celebrate a century of memories and remind someone that they are valued. Kimi-Roux's thoughtfulness is a great example of how meaningful it can be to simply show up, listen, and help people feel connected to those around them.

Please join us in congratulating our October Residence Week graduates! 🎉

This group includes new Right at Home owners, an existing owner, and team members from established Right at Home offices. Throughout the week, they came together to learn, collaborate, build connections, and deepen their understanding of the Right at Home system.

One of the most meaningful Residence Week traditions is graduation, where classmates recognize one another and share heartfelt reflections on how their peers shaped their experience. It's always inspiring to see individuals from different backgrounds, roles, and experiences come together to support and learn from one another.

Earlier this month, Air Force veteran Ron and Army veteran Clarence traveled to Washington, D.C., on a Queen City Honor Flight, visiting memorials honoring the sacrifices of those who served before them and alongside them.

Right at Home Rock Hill owner and Navy veteran Jim Ryan joined them as one of their guardians on the trip. He was proud to help celebrate this unforgettable experience and two American heroes.

A few weeks ago, members of the Right at Home corporate team had the opportunity to volunteer with The Furniture Project - Omaha, where service took many forms. Some assembled toddler beds, some shopped for families in need, and others helped prepare incoming donations for their next home.

We also had the chance to connect with founder Drew Gerken, who shared the story behind the organization and the ways our missions intersect. His commitment to helping people live with dignity in their homes reflects the same values that inspire the work we do every day.
