Please contact The Diabetes Center if you are Medicare eligible and are interested in weight loss with FDA approved medication. The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program is finally covering great options for weight loss if eligible at an affordable price.
To qualify for the medication:
The medication must be prescribed to help the person lose weight and keep the weight off, along with ongoing healthy lifestyle changes such as a structured nutrition plan and regular physical activity, as approved by the FDA.
And the person must be 18 years or older and meet one of these conditions:
BMI of 35 or higher, OR
BMI of 30 or higher and have at least one of the following:
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
Uncontrolled high blood pressure (blood pressure remains above 140/90 despite taking two blood pressure medications)
Chronic kidney disease stage 3a or higher
BMI of 27 or higher and have at least one of the following:
Prediabetes
Previous heart attack
Previous stroke
Symptomatic peripheral artery disease (poor blood flow in the arteries, usually affecting the legs)
In short, the person must be at least 18, be using the medication together with diet and exercise changes, and meet the BMI requirement along with any required health conditions listed above
