This week, members of Tri-City’s Emergency Department, alongside volunteers from The River, an affiliate of North Coast Church, came together to create and deliver care packages for patients in need that come through our Emergency Room.

These care packages include:
• Blankets, toiletries, underwear, socks, sunscreen, ChapStick, snacks, water, and more.
• Clothing such as T-shirts, shorts, sweatpants, and leggings.
• Dog treats and dog food for patients with pets.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped assemble and deliver these wonderful packages.

We want to thank those who came together to create and deliver these wonderful packages; The Heart of Tri-City isn’t just our amazing staff here at the hospital, it is also our wonderful friends, neighbors and community partners who continually show up to support those in need.

At Tri-City, we continue to set the standard for breakthroughs in patient care. Recently, we welcomed three new pieces of equipment into our Operating Rooms, and we are proud to introduce them to you.

The first is Mako 4; a Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery System developed by stryker and utilized for total or partial hip and knee replacements. However, it is now expanding into spinal cases.

With the addition of Mako 4, Tri-City is the first hospital in California to use the Mako Robotic-Arm for spine procedures.

We are also the first hospital in San Diego, thanks to our second addition, to utilize the Q Guidance System with Copilot, another innovative system developed by Stryker.

Dr. Payam Moazzaz, one of the six surgeons leading our spine program at Tri-City can be seen training on the new suite and table alongside members of the Stryker team.

When used in tandem, Q Guidance, Copilot, and Mako allow our surgeons to develop tailored care plans for every patient through advanced 3D imaging. These images, along with each patient’s customized surgical plan, are brought into the OR where real-time adjustments can be made with ease and accuracy.

Lastly, to ensure case success and patient comfort we brought on the Trios Spine Table by Mizuho OSI. A mobile modular table allowing for quick adjustment and installation in any of our ORs.

These innovations allow for shorter recovery times and get patients back to their lives sooner.

These advancements in care would not be possible without the generous support of the Tri-City Hospital Foundation and donors like you.

Today we pause, we reflect and we honor the brave men and women who went above and beyond the call of duty.

For those who gave all, their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of our freedoms.

On this Memorial Day we remember and give thanks.

Tri-City Medical Center is thrilled to announce that Phase One of our newly redesigned Emergency Department is now open!

As the Tri-City area has grown, it became clear that our community needed a more ergonomic, efficient emergency department. Now, a state-of-the-art emergency room is ready to serve our community when they need it most.

Projects like this are not completed without the hard work and dedication of incredible individuals and partners. We would like to thank the Tri-City Hospital Foundation for spearheading the fundraising effort that helped bring this project to life. From golf tournaments to galas, your time, effort, and care have made this all possible.

We would also like to thank the David C. Copley Foundation, the Conrad Prebys Foundation, and our local donors for their generous contributions and commitment to accessible, high quality, local healthcare.

Tri-City is more than a hospital, it is a community, and we are grateful to be your healthcare provider for over 65 years.

As the future of healthcare unfolds, we look forward to being at your side every step of the way.

At Tri-City Medical Center, we pride ourselves on being one of the first Hospitals in San Diego County to be at the forefront of robotic assisted operations.

We are thrilled to continue this legacy with the addition of the all new da Vinci 5 surgical suite, the latest addition to our repertoire of care.

Developed by Intuitive, the da Vinci surgical suite has served Tri-City surgeons and their patients for over 15 years. Combining state-of-the-art engineering with the latest technological innovation the da Vinci 5 ensures better case outcomes and faster patient recovery.

The da Vinci 5 is already being utilized in our operating rooms and will work alongside our existing da Vinci suite, da Vinci Xi, to expand access to advanced minimally invasive surgical care for our community.

The celebration continued with sweet treats and fun activities, including an ice cream social, chair float challenge, and Jersey Day to show off our team spirit!
We wrapped up the week the best way we know how…With a backyard-style BBQ! Featuring fresh burgers, homemade sides, and giveaways of TCMC beach towels and sunglasses!

From all of us at Tri-City, thank you to each and every one of our nurses, physicians, administrators, staff members, and volunteers for your unwavering care, compassion, and commitment to serving our community.

Happy Hospital and Nurses Week, this week and every week!

As we continue to highlight the awe-inspiring work of our clinical and nursing staff during hospital and nurse’s week, Tri-City saw a milestone occur under the healing hands of Cardiology Physicians Dr. Aaron Yung and Dr. Darrell Wu.

Wednesday, May 6th, Tri-City celebrated the 200th TAVR operation. The TAVR, short for Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, is an artificial heart valve, developed by Edwards Lifesciences, that can be deployed in less than 90 minutes via minimally invasive surgery.

We want to thank the team at Edwards for hosting a celebratory luncheon and our care team for ensuring our patient was given the comforting healing care on their journey to recovery.

Way to go team!
