🌾 Could growing up around farms help protect kids from allergies and asthma?
New research is shedding light on the “farm effect”—the observation that children who grow up on farms tend to have lower rates of asthma, hay fever, and eczema.

Researchers identified nine specific bacterial species found in farm environments that may play a role in this protection. These microbes appear to interact with the immune system in ways that may help reduce inflammation and promote a healthier immune response. 🦠🌱

While this is exciting research, scientists emphasize that more studies are needed to understand exactly how these bacteria work and whether they could eventually lead to new ways to prevent allergies and asthma.

It’s another fascinating look at the relationship between our environment, the microbes around us, and developing immune systems!
