Oscar Gerardo Alvarez Sr.

Oscar Gerardo Alvarez Sr., 63, of Gomez Palacio, Durango, passed away May 31, 2026, in Odessa, Texas, surrounded by those he loved.

Oscar Gerardo Alvarez Sr. was born in Gomez Palacio, Durango, to Rafael Alvarez Urquidez and Elida Hernandez Diaz. He graduated from Odessa High School. He began working at a very young age but finally retired as a Plant Foreman for Martin Resources, where he was a dedicated employee for 30+ years. He was a huge football fan and enjoyed the parlays that came with it. He never turned down a good deal or a bet. You could most likely find him watching old westerns or wrestling. A man who liked to dress to impress, from his gold chains and rings to his tejana and boots. Many close family and friends gave him nicknames such as “El Negro” and “Big Worm”. He was a food connoisseur, from the all-you-can-eat buffets to fine dining, but nothing could measure up to his mother’s asado and rice. Known and loved by so many, a true social butterfly who never met a stranger, making friends everywhere he went. You will be deeply missed, and we will love you forever. Fly high, Pops.

Maria Lourdes Delgado

Maria Lourdes Delgado, age 55, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026. She was born on March 7, 1971, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jose Rascon and Francisca Olivas.

Maria was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who would do anything and everything for her family. She was known for her tough love, always ensuring that those she cared for understood just how deeply they were loved. Though naturally reserved, Maria found great comfort and joy in her home. Those who truly knew her were blessed to see what a wonderful, kind, and loving woman she was.

Her Catholic faith was a central part of her life. Maria was devoted to her beliefs and often spoke about the Word of God, living her life guided by faith and devotion. She found joy in the simple pleasures, cooking and baking for her loved ones, knitting, and reading. Her home was always filled with books, reflecting her love for learning and quiet reflection. She also cherished her pets dearly: KiKi, Paloma, Jordan, and Pingu.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Julio Delgado; her mother, Francisca Olivas; her children, Jeanette Natividad, Ileana Delgado, Andrea Delgado, and Danna Delgado; and her grandchildren, Eidan Romero, Dylan Montanez, Sebastian Natividad, and Genesis Natividad.
