Today we kicked off CNA Week and started celebrating our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). We will share all the fun next week so stay tuned for that!

I gave a shoutout to our CNAs earlier today, but I wanted to say it again. I truly believe every position and department in a nursing home is crucial. The success of a nursing home comes from every employee and every department doing their part. That being said, CNAs are the backbone of what we do.

CNAs perform some of the hardest physical work in the building, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Additionally, they provide the most direct care and meaningful connections with our residents. They are there for the everyday moments that make a difference in someone’s quality of life.

I appreciate our CNAs more than I can put into words, and I am incredibly proud that they are being celebrated not just by me, but by our nurses, managers, coworkers, and residents.

Thank you to all of our CNAs for the compassion, dedication, and hard work you bring every single day.

If you see a CNA this week, be sure to thank them for their hard work! They may be caring for one of your loved ones.

Our memory care residents in The Gardens stay busy with a variety of meaningful and enjoyable activities each day. We believe in focusing on the abilities they still have and providing opportunities to maintain their independence, purpose, and sense of accomplishment. One of their favorite activities is cooking, which allows them to use familiar skills, share memories, and enjoy the satisfaction of creating something together. We love watching our residents continue to shine while doing the things they enjoy most.

Today, our Vincennes University clinical group completed their clinical experience at Ketcham Memorial Center. This was a wonderful group of future nurses who quickly connected with both our residents and staff, and it was a pleasure having them with us.

I take great pride in Ketcham Memorial Center and always appreciate the opportunity to showcase what makes our facility special, especially to the next generation of healthcare professionals. I firmly believe that we have a responsibility to make our workplace the best it can be for our staff and a true home for our residents. It is equally important to me and our Nursing Management Team that the students feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged throughout their learning experience.

Thank you to this outstanding group for spending part of your nursing journey with us. We wish you all the best as you continue your education and future careers in healthcare!
