When this Wyoming family learned they were expecting triplets, it was certainly unexpected! As first-time parents-to-be, they wanted the reassurance that comes with expert, specialized care.

In April, Jovie and Ethan Salsbury welcomed three beautiful babies here at Ogden Regional Medical Center—170 miles from their home. Each of their sweet babies – two girls and one boy – weighed nearly five pounds and did remarkably well! While their NICU stay was brief, having access to advanced neonatal care gave their family the confidence and support they needed during one of life's biggest moments.

Before the triplets were born, their father had never really held a newborn baby!

"Everyone was so nice and helpful for us," Ethan explained. "It was so reassuring knowing that the staff could take care of all three babies and my wife at the same time."

The couple says the medical professionals in the NICU helped teach them how to care for their little ones. That, and being able to sleep at the hospital, they say, was vital.

"Getting to stay the night with the triplets truly was a gamechanger for our family. We were able to learn so much – not just about how best to take care of the babies, but how to function well as a brand new family of five," they said. "It made all the difference for us—babies included!"

Since breaking ground on the expansion and renovation of our NICU on Aug. 5, more families will soon have the opportunity to stay the night next to their NICU babies at Ogden Regional—just like the Salsbury family did—thanks to the addition of private NICU suites. We're investing in the future of neonatal care so even more families can receive exceptional, compassionate care close to home.

"I think that being with the triplets around the clock helped them become stronger—faster. They thrived with us by their side! And as new parents, I think we did too," Jovie explained. "Our sweet babies came about a year too soon for us to enjoy the renovations, but I’m so thrilled for the families who will get to utilize them. It’s so exciting to see the hospital growing in a way that will directly improve the lives and experiences of patients and their family members."

Congratulations to this incredible family on their THREE newest additions! Thank you for allowing us to be part of such a special chapter in your story. ❤️❤️❤️

Every family's journey is unique, and our Level III NICU is designed to care for newborns with a wide range of needs. For more information about our NICU, visit https://bit.ly/4qfvfb0.

Ogden Regional Medical Center celebrated a historic milestone as we officially broke ground on the first phase of HCA Healthcare's $77 million investment in our hospital. 🎉

As part of HCA Healthcare—known locally as MountainStar Healthcare—we're able to combine the strength of a collaborative network with the compassionate, personalized care our community has trusted for 80 years. By sharing knowledge, investing in innovation, and working together, we're helping shape the future of healthcare—right here in Northern Utah.

While the expansion and renovation of our Level III NICU marks the beginning of this exciting journey, this investment will transform eight spaces throughout our hospital. These include, but are not limited to:
🔹 Intermediate Care Unit
🔹 Medical Unit
🔹 Surgical Unit

These improvements will create more modern, healing environments for patients and families while providing our caregivers with spaces designed to support exceptional care for years to come.

As we celebrate 80 Years of Healing, we're proud to invest in the next chapter of ORMC—building on our legacy while creating an even brighter future for the communities we serve.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting milestone. The future is bright, and we're just getting started.

If you're expecting a baby, congratulations! 🤰 During this exciting journey, it helps to know about conditions that could affect your health, including placenta accreta spectrum, or PAS. This condition happens when the placenta attaches too deeply into the wall of the uterus, which can lead to serious bleeding during delivery.

Watch as Dr. Robert Cohen, an OB-GYN and medical director of the Placenta Accreta Program for our broader HCA Healthcare network, breaks down what PAS is, who may be at higher risk and why early diagnosis and specialized care matter.

Across HCA Healthcare, caregivers deliver more than 200,000 babies each year, generating insights that help improve outcomes for moms and babies.

At Ogden Regional Medical Center, our leaders participated in Walk in Your World, an HCA Healthcare initiative that connects facility, division, and corporate leaders with frontline caregivers to gain a deeper understanding of their daily experiences.

By spending time alongside nurses, physicians, therapists, technicians, and support teams, our leaders see firsthand the compassion, collaboration, and clinical excellence that make exceptional patient care possible.

These experiences strengthen partnerships, inspire new ideas, and help ensure our decisions continue to support the colleagues who care for our patients every day.

Thank you to every team member who welcomed a leader into their world and shared the work, dedication, and heart behind what they do. Your expertise continues to shape the future of healthcare at ORMC and across HCA Healthcare.

As Ogden Regional Medical Center celebrates 80 years of caring like family, our colleagues are giving back to the next generation.

Ahead of the 2026-27 school year, our team partnered with United Way of Northern Utah to donate 50 backpacks and school supplies for students in the Ogden School District and Weber School District.

2026 also marks 50 years of HCA Healthcare in Utah—known locally as MountainStar Healthcare! Our sister facility, Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, celebrated with Ashley Hawk, host of Fox 13's The PLACE.

This effort is one way we’re honoring our legacy in Utah: by showing up for students, families and the community we’re proud to serve. 💙🧡

Together across Utah, MountainStar Healthcare is donating a total of 850 backpacks! Thank you to our colleagues and community partners who helped make this back-to-school drive possible!

As summer stretches into its hottest weeks and we brace for another triple-digit temperature weekend across Utah, the risk of heat exhaustion is heightened. Whether you're working outdoors, attending a sporting event or squeezing in one last trip to the lake, prolonged exposure to heat and humidity can take a toll on your body. 🌡️

According to the CDC, heat exhaustion is one of the most common heat-related illnesses. It is fairly mild when caught early. However, when untreated, it can lead to more serious heat-related illnesses like heat stroke.

Dr. Chad Nicholls, the Market Medical Director for CareNow® Urgent Care in Utah—part of MountainStar Healthcare—recently joined Dan Evans and Kelly Chapman during Good Day Utah on FOX 13 News to discuss the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke & how to prevent getting sick.

Recognizing the early symptoms, understanding prevention and knowing when to visit CareNow Urgent Care can make all the difference. For more information, visit CareNow.com.
