Have you ever noticed you move a little easier after you've been active for a while than you do when you first get out of bed? It's not just your muscles warming up. Your connective tissues become more pliable with movement, allowing different layers to glide more freely. That's one of the reasons athletes don't usually jump straight into intense activity without warming up first.
Movement is one of the best ways to prepare the body for activity, and it's also one of the reasons so many people notice they feel stiff after sitting for long periods of time. Our bodies were designed to move, and the more we understand how connective tissue responds to movement, the more we appreciate why staying active is so important.
I specialize in myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, and Swedish massage. Rates start at $80/hour, with lower rates available for regular maintenance appointments. Located in Ogden.
