Ann M. Lalonde, also playfully known as “Big Ann” age 61, of Ogdensburg, passed away peacefully at her home on September 4, 2026, surrounded by the people she loved most—her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home, with Deacon Tony Pastizzo officiating. Visitation will be held also on Tuesday from 12:00pm until the time of the service.

Ann leaves behind her husband and best friend, Paul Lalonde; her beloved daughters, Jennifer Hitsman (Curt Dishaw) of Ogdensburg and Melissa Lalonde (Frankie Miller) of Ogdensburg; and her precious grandchildren, Hazel Miller, Van Miller, Olivia Hitsman and Ellie Hitsman, who brought so much happiness and love into her life. She is also survived by her brothers, Marcus Prosser of Ogdensburg, Michael Prosser of Virginia, and Roland “John” Prosser of Ogdensburg; half-brother Gerald Montroy Jr. of Ogdensburg; her second family, Jerrilyn (Tim) McGill of Norwood and Rusty West of Ogdensburg; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ann was predeceased by her parents, Marcus & Shirley (Colaes) Montroy; her sister, Beverly Johnson; mother and father-in-law Edmund & Hazel Lalonde; her second family, Carol & Larry West; and her beloved Godmother, Carol Ladouceur.

Born in Ogdensburg, Ann was the daughter of the late Marcus & Shirley (Sargent) Colaes. She graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1983 and married Paul Lalonde in June of that same year.

Ann worked at Price Chopper for 13 years, followed by North Country Savings Bank and Citizens National Bank of Hammond, before retiring due to declining health.

She enjoyed watching crime shows, playing computer games, eating out, and taking drives through the countryside. But above all else, she loved being with her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and the love she had for them was unmistakable.

She was, above all, wonderfully spunky and unapologetically herself. She had a sharp wit, a mischievous spirit, and absolutely no shortage of opinions. She was known to enthusiastically encourage the occasional use of the bird when the situation called for it, and she never met a well-placed profanity she didn’t appreciate. Her colorful language was matched only by her big heart, fierce loyalty, and talent for making people laugh. She taught those around her to stand their ground, speak their minds, and never take life—or themselves—too seriously. She was one of a kind, and the world will be considerably less fun without her.

The Lalonde family wanted to extend a sincere thank you to the amazing staff at the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center for the amazing care and friendship through the past two years.
