I decided to ride my waves of grief in the mountains this weekend. It didn’t fix anything or magically get me to the other side — but they always bring peace and healing energy. 🤍

The biggest blessing was finding Spirit Canoe Lodge just outside of West Jefferson, NC. What Kelly has created is nothing short of magic, and I’ll be back over and over again. Her land, her home, her presence - so special.

Saturday - Mount Rogers + Appalachian Trail Loop (on AllTrails) with a lot of time spent in Grayson Highlands State Park. My mom was a huge animal lover and I wanted to be with the wild ponies. 22 miles and 3,900 vert.

Sunday - Three Top Mountain Trail (also on AllTrails). It was only 20 minutes from my Airbnb and I could see the summit from Kelly’s porch. Climbed up to 5,000 elevation feet for breathtaking 360 views. 3.6 miles and 1,300 vert.

Home now and getting ready to face the week. I’m going to teach for the first time in two weeks. And it’s going to be okay.

My sweet, brave, loving mother passed on Friday, July 31. I wrote an obituary to memorialize her life. I hope you'll read it because she was a pretty incredible woman and I aspire to her level of strength, tenacity and trust.

Sharing the obituary of my mother, Sally Nadine Eddins.

Let’s talk 💉!!!

I’ve been trying to space out my injections to 6+ months for a more natural look…and because I metabolize them so quickly due to my activity level. I remind myself that the goal isn’t to have a face that doesn’t move, but to age a little more gracefully and avoid deep set wrinkles.

Come with me for an appointment with Courtney Whitley, FNP - C at Carolina Facial Plastics. In this video I’m showing you the consultation process (that always involves a lot of yapping and catching up) and what our plan of action was. One thing I love about CFP is their attention to client concerns along with their measured approach based on natural results.

I felt like I was glowing after this appointment and can’t wait to share the results in the next video! (If you haven’t tried Sculptra yet this is your sign.) 🤗

It was the most perfect day in the mountains. 💛

Dropped Finn off for his first summer camp experience. I grew up going to Girl Scout camp in Georgia and it was the highlight of my summers. I went on to become a camp counselor for five summers in college. I was so lucky to get connected with the most magical family-owned camp in Flat Rock, NC where I spent my last three summers. I dreamed of sending my future kids there and today that became a reality. I love camp and seriously considered making a job out of it after college. (Still might test that concept! 🙃)

Despite being very nervous, Finn absolutely rocked drop-off. So proud of my brave boy for doing hard things!!!!

I grabbed lunch to go at the Flat Rock Village Bakery and ate it on my way for an afternoon of trail running in the Pisgah National Forest.

Parked at the Fish Hatchery and ran Cat Gap ➡️ John Rock ➡️ Cat Gap ➡️ Art Loeb ➡️ Butter Gap for 12 miles and 2,500 vert.

Drove home feeling so content while eating arguably the best oatmeal raisin cookie of my life.

Let's eat!
