Parents, please come out and bring your kids! Whether they ride an e-bike, bicycle, or are hoping to get one soon, this is important information that can help keep them AND everyone else on the road safe.

The Okeene Hospital Foundation is proud to announce the purchase of a new state-of-the-art ultrasound machine for Okeene Municipal Hospital & Medical Clinic!

This investment was made possible because of the incredible support of our community.

Over the years, every gift to the Okeene Hospital Foundation has helped us work toward projects like this. Proceeds from our annual Foundation Golf Tournaments, memorial donations made in honor or memory of loved ones, yearly contributions, fundraiser participation, sponsorships, and individual gifts have all played a part.

We are also incredibly grateful for a generous contribution from an anonymous donor with deep roots in Okeene and healthcare who helped make this purchase possible.

This machine wasn't purchased by just one person or one fundraiser—it was made possible by a community that continues to believe in local healthcare.

What does a new ultrasound mean for our patients?

This advanced equipment can be used throughout the hospital and clinic for a variety of needs, including:

-Emergency Room evaluations when answers are needed quickly
-Ultrasound-guided IV placement, especially for difficult IV access
-Bladder scanning and assessment of urinary retention
-Circulation and blood flow assessments for wound care, helping providers evaluate vascular health and blood flow that can affect wound healing
-Abdominal and soft-tissue evaluations
-Vascular assessments
-Procedural guidance
And many other diagnostic and bedside applications

Having advanced equipment available locally gives our providers another valuable tool to evaluate, diagnose, and care for patients—without leaving our community whenever possible.

Okeene Municipal Hospital and Medical Clinic is proud to announce Scott Dobrinski as our new Chief Executive Officer!

For Scott, this isn’t simply a new position — it’s an opportunity to lead an organization and serve a community that have been part of his story for most of his life.

Scott is an Okeene High School graduate who grew up right here in our community. His journey with Okeene Municipal Hospital began in 2019, and over the years, he has served our hospital in a remarkable variety of roles:

Maintenance → Maintenance Supervisor → Nurse Aide → Lab/Radiology → Finance Manager → Controller → CEO

His career path has given him the unique opportunity to experience many different sides of rural healthcare and work alongside employees throughout our organization. Now, he brings that experience, knowledge, and love for his hometown into his newest role as CEO.

“Having the opportunity to serve as the next CEO of the Okeene Municipal Hospital and Medical Clinic is an incredible honor. It carries a much deeper meaning than just a professional opportunity. I grew up in this community. The people, values, and relationships that make Okeene special have played a huge role in shaping who I am today.

This hospital has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been a patient for countless ER trips, routine doctor’s appointments and I’ve utilized many of the services offered here at the hospital. This place and its healthcare professionals have cared for me, my family, and thousands of others who depend on this hospital to provide quality healthcare right here at home. To have the opportunity to lead an organization that has personally meant so much to me is something I do not take lightly.

What makes this place special are the people who come through its doors every day. The employees who care deeply for their patients, the physicians and providers who serve this community, and the community members who continue to support and believe in their local hospital.

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve all of the people who help make the Okeene Municipal Hospital and Medical Clinic what it is. It’s a privilege to work alongside our incredible staff and help lead our hospital forward. We have a long, rich history because of those who have served this community before us. 💙 MEET DARBI — OUR NEW COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER! 💙

We are so excited to welcome Darbi to the Okeene Municipal Hospital & Medical Clinic team as our new Community Health Worker (CHW)! 🎉

This position was made possible through a grant awarded to our hospital by the Oklahoma Hospital Association (OHA), and it allows us to provide another valuable resource to individuals and families throughout Blaine County.

So, what exactly does a Community Health Worker do? 🤔

Sometimes taking care of your health involves a lot more than simply going to the doctor. Transportation, medication costs, utilities, food, insurance, and other everyday challenges can make it difficult to get the care you need.

That’s where Darbi comes in! 💙

Darbi is here to help connect Blaine County residents with resources that may assist with needs such as:

🚗 Finding transportation to medical appointments
💊 Assistance with medication costs
💡 Finding resources for utility bills
🥦 Food and nutrition resources
🏥 Connecting you with healthcare services
📋 Navigating available community programs and assistance
🤝 And other barriers that may be affecting your health and well-being

If you have a need and you’re not sure where to turn, start with Darbi! Even if she doesn’t have the answer herself, she can help you find the right resources and point you in the right direction.

🚨 IMPORTANT SCAM ALERT & REMINDER 🚨

Okeene Municipal Hospital and Medical Clinic has been made aware of a concerning phone call received by community members that appeared to come from our hospital phone number.

During the call, the individuals were transferred to multiple people who discussed Medicare and attempted to persuade them to switch to a Medicare Advantage plan by claiming it could save them money.

Please know: Okeene Municipal Hospital and Medical Clinic employees will NEVER call you to sell you an insurance plan or pressure you to switch Medicare plans.

Unfortunately, scammers have become increasingly sophisticated and can use a tactic called “spoofing,” which can make a phone call appear on your caller ID as though it is coming from a trusted local phone number or business. Seeing our hospital's name or number on your caller ID does not always guarantee that the call is actually coming from us.

We especially encourage everyone to talk with elderly parents, grandparents, neighbors, and loved ones about phone scams.

⚠️ A few important reminders:
• Never give out your Medicare number, Social Security number, banking information, or other personal information to an unexpected caller.
• Do not feel pressured to make an immediate decision about your insurance over the phone.
• If something doesn't feel right, hang up and call us directly using the hospital's known phone number.
• Never be afraid to ask questions or verify who you are speaking with.

Scammers are everywhere, and their tactics continue to become more convincing. Please stay cautious, protect your personal information, and share this message—especially with those in our community who may be more vulnerable to these types of calls. ❤️
