We are hosting a blood drive tomorrow, Tuesday, July 28, and we'd love for you to be part of it. Giving blood is one of the simplest ways to make a real difference for patients in our community!

This year, your donation can have an even broader impact. Through Donables, each blood donation will generate support for United Way of Central Oklahoma. Donations from first-time Our Blood Institute donors will generate $100 in support, while donations from returning donors will generate $15.

As an added thank-you, donors will receive an exclusive two-sided T-shirt and one ticket to Hurricane Harbor or Frontier City, while supplies last. Donors may also be eligible for entry into a $10,000 vacay giveaway!

Appointments are encouraged and help keep the drive running smoothly. Schedule your appointment today: https://bit.ly/4fdXJya.

Donating blood is one of the easiest and most meaningful ways to make a difference for patients in our community. Every donation has the power to save lives.

This year, we're partnering with Donables to make your donation go even further. Through this program, every blood donation also supports the United Way of Central Oklahoma with an in-kind donation. First-time donors to Our Blood Institute generate $100 for United Way, while returning donors generate $15 with each donation.

As a thank-you for giving, all donors will receive an exclusive t-shirt, a ticket to Hurricane Harbor or Frontier City and an entry to win a $10,000 vacation giveaway.

To schedule an appointment, visit https://www.yourbloodinstitute.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/688928. Your donation will make a lasting impact in more ways than one.

July is Cord Blood Awareness Month.

If you are an expectant mother preparing for your baby’s arrival, cord blood banking may be one decision worth discussing with your provider.

Cord blood banking is the process of collecting and storing blood from your baby’s umbilical cord after birth. Cord blood contains stem cells that may be used in certain treatments, research and clinical trials.

Be sure to talk with your care team to learn more about the benefits and options available for your family.

For Ashlyn Haggard, Lakeside Women’s Hospital INTEGRIS Health has always been more than just a workplace. It's where her story began 22 years ago.

Now, more than two decades later, Ashlyn has returned to the very place where she took her first breath, working as a nurse tech in the nursery while pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

In her role, Ashlyn helps care for newborns and supports nurses and families during some of life’s most meaningful moments. For her, each shift is a reminder of how powerful compassionate care can be.

“What makes it so special is knowing that I was once one of those babies,” Ashlyn said. “Now I get to help care for babies and be there for families during the first moments of their own stories.”

Ashlyn’s journey is a full-circle moment that reflects the lasting impact healthcare workers can have on the lives of patients and families. The care her family received helped shape the beginning of her life, and now she is helping provide that same care to others.

“Lakeside will always be special to me,” Ashlyn said. “It is where my life began, and now it is where I am learning, growing and caring for others.” 💖

The Lakeside team would like to provide a friendly reminder to encourage the men you love to make their health a priority. If your husband, partner, brother, dad or friend is 45 or older, it may be time to talk about a colonoscopy. Many people may not realize that we offer screenings for both men and women.

The American Cancer Society recommends that people at average risk of colorectal cancer start regular screening at age 45. Colonoscopies can detect concerns early, remove polyps and even help prevent colorectal cancer before it starts.
