😍My heart cannot handle how big my babies are getting. But man, seeing them take care of each other and be there for one another- that makes me one happy Mom.
Reason number 123,456,789 I have my kiddos homeschooled and make sacrifices to have one or both parents in the home. Consistency, safety, love, and time to bond and grow with siblings and parents. To teach not only math, reading and sciences, but empathy, emotional regulation, proper communication and consequences...real life stuff. Common sense.
Yeah, its a hard road most days. Some days I want to give up or I feel like I am failing them. The pressures of putting a grade or number on a child and comparing their knowledge...are my kids "behind"? Well....to the school system they may be. But no, they're not. They are going at the pace they need. Not pressured. Not graded. Not worried at failing themselves or parents. Learning at a slow by steady rate. Absorbing well. Doing a lot of playing, fighting, eating...repeat. 🤣
My favorite part...no rushed mornings! My kids just have their own routine in the morning...usually out playing if its nice (or fighting 🫠), making themselves breakfast. And after I get my coffee, we start learning. Sometimes it takes a couple hours. Other days it takes all day..like I said it can be HARD. Just taking it one day at a time.
I wish I started out homeschooling. I do not regret it one bit. Especially when I see my kids like I did today....holding hands and playing together. I'm truly blessed and thankful for time with them. I wish I could add more time to these young years!
