We’re proud to celebrate Chesna Gordon, a 2025 Sonography Program graduate, on being selected for the 2026 Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) Emerging Leaders Program! 👏🩺

At the conclusion of the program, Chesna was selected to represent the 2026 cohort at the SDMS Annual Conference, taking place this September in Atlanta, Georgia.

What an incredible accomplishment and a wonderful reflection of Chesna’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to the sonography profession. We can’t wait to see all that she continues to achieve! ❤️

This summer, our occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) students put their learning into action through two meaningful Unity Clinic outreach events!

🚗 Our first-year OT doctoral students became CarFit technicians and participated in two summer events through a collaboration with the OKC Housing Authority. CarFit helps older adults find the best “fit” in their vehicles to promote comfort and safe driving. (Slides 1-2)

🎒 OT and PT students joined Unity Clinic for its annual back-to-school event. OT students taught children how to make origami while sharing strategies with families to improve hand strength and dexterity to support handwriting. PT students provided grip strength and balance assessments, along with education on the importance of physical activity. (Slides 3-6)

We’re proud of our students for serving their community, connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences, and helping individuals of all ages thrive! ❤️☝️

The future of medical imaging starts with seeing anatomy from a whole new perspective 🩻

Earlier this month, first-year MIRS students put their anatomy knowledge into action through interactive cross-sectional imaging activities!

From "Find the Gallstone" to "Ordering the Slices," students applied what they've learned in the classroom while building the 3D thinking skills they'll use throughout their future careers.

OU College of Allied Health's Doctor of Physical Therapy and Doctor of Occupational Therapy students were grateful to serve alongside OU Unity Clinic and other health professionals and healthcare students at the Homeless Alliance Oklahoma City Health & Wellness Resource Fair on May 23rd.

Physical Therapy students screened residents’ feet for skin breakdown and sensation impairments, provided new socks, and shared foot care education. Occupational Therapy students provided education on hand hygiene and staying cool during the summer.

This event also marked a passing of the torch as DPT student lead Zachary Edwards transitioned the role to Jina Kim. Thank you, Zachary, for your leadership, and best wishes as you begin full-time clinical internships.

Thank you to the Homeless Alliance for the opportunity to serve our Oklahoma City community.

OU DPT faculty and students were honored to serve as medical volunteers for the 25th anniversary OKC Memorial Marathon, the Run to Remember 👟❤️

With a record-breaking nearly 30,000 runners and almost 1,500 documented on-course patient contacts, this event was a powerful reminder of resilience, service, and community. 💪

We are grateful to contribute to such a meaningful cause and to support the runners, survivors, families, and volunteers who make this race so special.
