✨ Celebrate Recovery – Spiritual Inventory II ✨

Tonight CR will NOT be in the Chapel. Instead we will meet at 6:30 on the 3rd floor of the church!!

We will continue the journey of honest self-reflection with Spiritual Inventory II. This step invites us to go deeper—examining not only our past hurts and habits, but our minds, bodies, families, and church.

📖 “Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.” – Lamentations 3:40

Taking inventory isn’t always easy. It takes courage to look within, to face the truth, and to recognize where growth is needed. But it’s in this honesty that healing begins. God meets us right where we are—not to condemn us, but to restore us. 💙

Tonight, we’re reminded:
Freedom comes through truth
Growth comes through honesty
Healing comes through surrender

You don’t have to carry your past alone. There is hope, grace, and a fresh start waiting.

This week at Celebrate Recovery, we’re cheering on one of our own who shared this powerful milestone:

That’s the kind of courage only God can grow in us. In CR, we learn that healing doesn’t always come in giant leaps—it comes in brave, honest steps forward. Facing our fears doesn’t mean they disappear overnight… it means they no longer get to control our lives.

Honesty is more than “not lying”—it’s choosing truth over image. It means being real with God, real with yourself, and real with others, even when the truth costs you pride, comfort, or approval.

A good self-check is noticing the subtle forms of dishonesty that sneak in: exaggeration, flattery, half-truths, leaving false impressions, repeating things without verifying, hidden motives, hypocrisy, inconsistency, and broken promises.

When we stop performing and start telling the truth, healing and trust can grow.

✨ A Testimony of Trust & Freedom ✨

This week at Celebrate Recovery, we’re celebrating a beautiful truth shared by one of our own:
“I’ve learned that there is nothing to worry about if you follow Jesus completely.”

In CR, we discover that real peace comes when we stop trying to control everything on our own and start trusting Jesus with all of it—our hurts, our habits, our relationships, our future. Surrender isn’t about giving up… it’s about giving over our worries to the One who loves us and leads us.

When we follow Jesus fully, fear loses its grip… and peace takes its place.
That’s the freedom we’re chasing, one day at a time.

The National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) walk will be happening this Saturday, May 16, at Scissortail Park. This walk helps to eliminate the stigma of mental illness and promote the message that treatment works.

A special Memorial Ceremony and butterfly release will happen before the walk, from 8:15 am - 9 am. The walk begins at 9 am.

Today, we honor mothers around the world—their love, strength, sacrifice, and perseverance. We also recognize that Mother’s Day can be complicated and even painful for many in our Celebrate Recovery family.

For some, this day brings grief, loss, strained relationships, unfulfilled hopes, or memories that are hard to hold. For others, it may stir feelings of absence, regret, or longing. Wherever you find yourself today, please know this: you are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone.
