🇺🇸❤️ Red, White & Blue Week at Brighter Horizons! 💙🤍

We had so much fun celebrating the Fourth of July with patriotic crafts, sensory activities, peer play, and community outings! Every activity gave our clients opportunities to build communication, social, fine motor, and independence skills while making lasting summer memories!

BH hopes all of our families had a safe, fun, and happy Fourth of July! 🎆🇺🇸

Some of the most meaningful moments happen when a community chooses connection! 🚒❤️

Last week, we had the privilege of welcoming our local firefighters at The Village Fire Department to BH and what unfolded was so much more than a visit to see a fire truck. It was a reminder of the power of acceptance!

Our clients laughed, explored the equipment, practiced communication skills, and built confidence while interacting with our community helpers. But what made it truly special was watching the firefighters take the time to connect with each child—to see their personalities, celebrate their curiosity, and engage with them for who and where they are!

These experiences matter. They help our clients become more comfortable navigating their community while also creating opportunities for our community to better understand and embrace neurodiversity. Acceptance grows when we take the time to learn from one another, and today was a beautiful example of that.

🍿🎬 Community outings provide meaningful opportunities for our clients to practice important life skills in real-world settings!

Friday, our clients enjoyed a trip to the local movie theater, where they handled changes to their typical routines with such flexibility!

During our outing, we worked on identifying appropriate behaviors in a movie theater, such as using quiet voices, staying seated, and respecting those around us. Clients also practiced functional communication and social skills by ordering their own snacks, making choices, waiting patiently, and interacting appropriately with community members.

These experiences help build confidence, independence, and the skills needed to successfully navigate everyday environments while promoting greater understanding, inclusion, and acceptance within our community.

🦁🐘 It Was A Wild Friday at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden! 🦒☀️

Our clients had an amazing time exploring the zoo! From spotting their favorite animals to walking through exhibits with friends, the day was filled with excitement, learning, and lots of smiles. 🐾

Community outings like these provide valuable opportunities to practice communication, waiting, learner readiness, following directions, and peer engagement in a natural environment. We are so proud of our clients for working hard on their goals while making memories and having fun along the way! 💛🌟

🌊🐠 Ocean Week was a splash of fun at Brighter Horizons ABA! 🐢✨

Our clients explored the wonders of the sea through ocean-themed crafts, sensory play, music, and imaginative learning. From creating jellyfish, sea turtles, and bubble fish to enjoying a library trip, Lilo & Stitch songs, and Finding Nemo, the week was filled with creativity, communication, and hands-on learning opportunities. 💙

We loved watching our clients build skills, make connections, and learn through play while diving into an underwater adventure! 🌊💛

We kicked off summer with a fun-filled week at therapy!☀️🍦

Clients enjoyed hands-on activities like ice cream crafts, frozen paint, and Sandcastle Sundaes while working on communication, fine motor, and social skills 💛

We also explored sensory play, took outdoor walks, and visited the library and nearby trail, practicing teamwork, turn-taking, and independence along the way 🏖️🌊
