A lot of family history was never written down.

It was told across kitchen tables.

Passed from grandparents to grandchildren.

Remembered through stories, traditions, photographs, and names.

That's part of why Juneteenth matters.

It's a reminder that preserving a story can be an act of resilience.

Today, we honor the history, strength, and legacy carried forward through generations.

Some people get really good at looking okay.

They show up.
Go to work.
Smile when they're supposed to.

And you would never know what happened to them.

That's part of what makes PTSD so difficult.

The struggle isn't always visible.

This PTSD Awareness Month, remember:

You can't always tell what someone is carrying.

A little kindness can go a long way.

Here's a strange thing about funeral homes:

When everything goes perfectly, almost nobody notices.

The room feels right.
The details are handled.
The family can focus on what matters.

And that's usually because someone spent hours making sure they didn't have to think about anything else… and that’s how we like it.

Father's Day can be a strange kind of grief.

How can someone feel so present... and so absent... at the exact same time?

For many families, Father's Day isn't just cookouts, cards, and family photos.

It's memories. Stories. Traditions.
And sometimes a quiet visit to a place that still feels close to Dad.

That's why our local cemetery teams will be gathering with families this Father's Day.

Not because grief follows a calendar.

But because sometimes people need a place to remember, reflect, and feel connected to someone they love.

However Father's Day feels for you this year, you're welcome here. πŸ’™

What if grief isn't about letting go?

What if it's about finding a new way to stay connected?

Love doesn't disappear just because someone is gone. This story from Eterneva is a powerful reminder that remembrance is personal, and there is no single "right" way to carry someone's memory forward. πŸ’™

Sometimes surviving cancer isn't the end of the hard part.

That's the part nobody prepares you for.

The appointments slow down.

People tell you how strong you are.

Life is supposed to feel normal again.

But for many survivors, the emotional journey doesn't end when treatment does.

There can still be fear.

Exhaustion.

Grief for the life that changed.

And sometimes pressure to act like everything is okay.

But healing doesn't always happen on a schedule.

On National Cancer Survivor Day, we're recognizing the parts of survival people don't always see.

Your story matters too.

The biggest mistake families make isn't what you think.

It's waiting until a crisis forces the conversation.

Pre-planning isn't really about funeral arrangements.

It's about making sure the people you love never have to guess what you would have wanted.

The best time to have that conversation is before you need it.
