Last week, we welcomed current and potential worksite partners and community partners to Men’s Firstep for a behind-the-scenes look at our program, our mission, and the role employment plays in recovery.

Our partners often see our men and women at work each day, but this tour gave them a chance to see the support, accountability, and community they return to at Firstep. It also helped show just how important worksite partners are in someone’s recovery journey.

A worksite provides more than a paycheck. It creates opportunities to build confidence, responsibility, stability, and hope. Our partners are truly catalysts for lasting change.

We are so thankful to everyone who joined us, asked thoughtful questions, shared ideas, and helped us imagine new possibilities. We are also deeply grateful to all of our partners for continuing to invest in the men and women of Firstep.

Interested in becoming a worksite partner, learning more about Firstep, scheduling a tour, or sharing an idea or connection? We would love to hear from you. Send us a message and let’s start the conversation!

**Thinking Firstep might be a good fit for you or someone you care about?**

The best place to start is with a quick phone screening. You can call our Men’s or Women’s Firstep campus:

Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon
📞Women's Firstep | 405-794-2834
📞Men's Firstep | 405-799-7540

Friends, family members, and providers are always welcome to call and ask questions. The person interested in the program will need to complete the actual screening, though.

If they are currently in jail, a treatment program, a hospital, or another facility, that is okay too. We can work with them and their provider to find a time that works and help get the process started.

And if Firstep is not the best fit, our team is happy to share other resources and help point them in the right direction. We know reaching out can be hard, and we are here to help make that first step a little easier.

This article from highlights a reality many people don’t see.

Mothers who want help… but can’t access it.

For so many women, the biggest barrier to recovery isn’t willingness. It’s everything surrounding it. Cost. Employment. Stability. Access to care. The weight of starting over.

And too often, that means they don’t get the chance they deserve.

At Women’s Firstep, we’re committed to removing as many of those barriers as possible.

We provide:
• A safe place to live
• A path to employment
• Structure, support, and accountability
• A community that walks alongside women in recovery
• A program designed to be accessible and life-changing

We meet women where they are and help them rebuild their lives step by step.

Because every woman deserves a real chance at recovery.

In her new book, ‘Rehab: An American Scandal,’ Shoshana Walter explores how the giant substance treatment industry keeps failing many people desperate for help.

What if your next great hire could also help change a life?
We had a great time connecting with businesses at the Ben E. Keith Expo this week!

One of the biggest takeaways we’re bringing back is this: our residents have a wide range of skills, experience, and work readiness that often goes unseen. From kitchen and food service to labor, logistics, and more, they show up ready to work, grow, and contribute every single day.

We’re actively looking for local businesses who need reliable, motivated workers and want to be part of something bigger. When you partner with Firstep, you’re not just filling a position. You’re helping someone rebuild their life while meeting real workforce needs.

If your business has staffing needs or wants to learn more about partnering with us, we would love to connect.

Let’s build something meaningful together. 💙

Spring at Firstep is something special 🌷🐣

Each Easter, our campuses fill with laughter, hugs, and second chances. Families come together for visitation, kids run across the lawn during egg hunts, and the Easter Bunny makes his rounds bringing smiles to everyone he meets.

These moments may seem small, but they mean everything. They are opportunities for our residents to reconnect, rebuild trust, and create new memories with the people they love most.

We’d love your help making this weekend extra meaningful.

We’ve created an Amazon Wishlist with items for our Easter egg hunts and family celebrations. If you feel led to give, you can purchase directly from the list and have it shipped straight to our campuses.

Every egg, every piece of candy, every small gift helps create a moment that reminds our families what they’re working toward 💛

Thank you for being part of the rebuilding.

Staff Standouts: Ms. Rhonda

Ms. Rhonda is the kind of person who makes Firstep what it is.

She’s loyal, dependable, and cares deeply about our women. A true leader and no-nonsense support system, she shows up every day with honesty, wisdom, and just the right amount of humor.

You’ll always know where she stands and we love her for it. And on the hard days? Whitney Houston gets turned all the way up 🎶

She steps up for everyone and brings a level of care and knowledge we couldn’t do without.

Also… the nails? Always flawless 💅
We appreciate you, Ms. Rhonda. Firstep is better because of you 🩷
