Happy World Embryologist Day! This incredibly gifted group of women make dreams come true on a daily basis 🫶They are making magic happen behind the scenes, and our clinic is truly grateful for helping so many people build families that otherwise could not without their help.

Per the American Society for Reproductive Medicine:
48 years, 13 million babies, and 1 Nobel Prize. Happy World IVF Day!

Since the birth of Louise Brown (Louise Joy Brown) in 1978, IVF has transformed millions of lives and expanded the possibilities for parenthood around the world.

Today, we celebrate the clinicians, scientists, advocates, patients, and organizations who have made IVF the gold-standard of reproductive care. Their tireless work to raise awareness, advance treatment options, and expand access has helped millions of people build the families they desire.

The name change from Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS) is sparking discussion about how to better reflect the condition’s wide-ranging health impacts, which affect an estimated 170 million people globally and extend beyond reproductive symptoms to include metabolic and endocrine risks.

Dr. Karl Hansen, OU Health Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist, and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, notes that care for PCOS has often been fragmented, with patients treated for individual symptoms rather than the underlying condition.

He and other experts say the goal of revisiting the terminology is to support more integrated, whole-person care and improve long-term outcomes. Learn more about the ongoing conversation around the name change and its potential impact on patients on Yahoo (link in story/highlights)
