Mars is giving three of its biggest candy brands a major makeover.

Beginning this August, the company will launch naturally colored versions of M&M’s, Skittles, and Starburst without artificial food dyes for the first time in its 85-year history.

The new M&M’s lineup will initially include only red, orange, yellow, and green candies. Mars says recreating its signature blue and brown colors with natural ingredients has proven far more difficult and expensive, with algae-based pigments like spirulina costing millions to produce at scale.

The launch comes as more major food companies move away from petroleum-based synthetic dyes amid growing pressure from the Make America Healthy Again initiative. The naturally colored candies will debut exclusively on Amazon, while traditional versions will continue to be sold in stores.
