raumatic brain injury (TBI) is a significant global health issue, causing cognitive, motor, and psychological impairments while increasing neurodegenerative disease risk. Essential oil extracted from Pelargonium graveolens, also known as geranium essential oil, is Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved and classified as generally recognized as safe for use in the food industry. Geranium essential oil contains low molecular weight lipophilic compounds, which potentially traverse the blood–brain barrier and modulate brain functions. The therapeutic efficacy of geranium essential oil was demonstrated through multiple behavioral assessments and tests.
Oral administration of geranium essential oil after a traumatic brain injury (closed-head injury) for two weeks helped protect the brain and improve memory and learning after traumatic brain injury in a preclinical model. Subjects treated with the oil performed better on multiple cognitive tests, and those improvements lasted for at least a month after injury. Researchers also found less damage to brain tissue, greater survival of neurons in areas critical for memory, and reduced brain shrinkage. These benefits appeared to be driven by lower inflammation (TNF-α, IL-1β, and lipid peroxidation levels), reduced oxidative stress, and activation of pathways involved in brain repair and recovery (CREB signaling, pCREB, along with M2 phenotype immunomodulation).

High blood pressure (HBP; hypertension) is one of the major modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The prevalence and severity of HBP tends to increase with age, showing that about 70% of adults 65 or older have HBP. Hypertension requires appropriate management to overcome the increased blood pressure through complementary therapy. Complementary therapy with lavender essential oil is an option for hypertension, but many people don’t use it. A recent clinical trial evaluated the effects of inhaling lavender essential oil from a diffuser in men and women 60+ years old with HBP. What the researchers found was that inhaling lavender essential oil significantly reduced HBP. All of the participants with severe HBP moved to moderate or mild HBP and nearly 20% of participants had BP that was normal at the conclusion of the study.

Burnout, defined as a response to chronic occupational stress characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and a diminished sense of personal accomplishment, has become a significant occupational health concern, affecting approximately two-thirds of nurses in the United States. These challenges are compounded by national workforce shortages, with projected deficits of nearly 338,000 registered nurses (RNs) and more than 99,000 licensed vocational/practical nurses by 2036. Therefore in order to support clinician well-being, resilience, and workforce sustainability healthcare organizations are increasingly exploring integrative and complementary approaches.

Among these approaches, modalities such as mindfulness, yoga, meditation, and aromatherapy have demonstrated potential for reducing stress and burnout among healthcare professionals. Aromatherapy, in particular, has emerged as a low-cost, low-risk intervention with preliminary evidence supporting its effectiveness in stress reduction. Aromatherapy involves the therapeutic use of essential oils derived from aromatic plants. Through inhalation, aromatic compounds stimulate the olfactory system and limbic regions of the brain associated with emotion, memory, and behavior, potentially influencing neurochemical and hormonal pathways involved in stress regulation. Beyond its physiological effects, aromatherapy has longstanding roots within nursing theory and holistic nursing practice. Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring provides a conceptual framework for understanding aromatherapy as more than a symptom-management intervention. Watson's theory emphasizes intentional presence, self-awareness, cultivation of healing environments, and the interconnectedness of caregiver and recipient within the caring-healing process.

Long time ago Socrates compared healthy feet with quality of life when he famously said, "When one's feet hurt, one hurts all over." His observation sounds true even nowadays.
Your feet are complex structures. In the process of supporting your body and keeping you moving, they might cause pain in other parts of your body, including your lower back.
When the body’s support structure is weakened by age, occupation, poor posture, overall fitness, weight or other factors, the body works much harder to keep the feet, knees, hip and lower back functioning. And this can cause back pain and problems.
If your lower back pain is worse in one pair of shoes than another, or caused by walking barefoot, your feet might be the problem—especially if you have flat feet. One of the common foot problems connected to lower back pain is Plantar Fasciitis.
Plantar fasciitis is also one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).
Plantar fasciitis commonly causes stabbing pain in the bottom of your foot near the heel that usually occurs with your first steps in the morning. As you get up and move, the pain normally decreases, but it might return after long periods of standing or when you stand up after sitting.
The Rossiter stretching techniques can effectively relieve your pain. Working with feet is both rewarding and painful. But there are occasions when the work is positively “yummy.” For people who suffered with foot pain for years, it will take some time to get rid of it. Long standing pain is deeply embedded and can take several sessions to work it out with Rossiter. But the sooner you address a problem, the better. This way you can prevent your pain from becoming chronic. Also, it is very beneficial to use Rossiter stretching workouts as a maintenance program to keep healthy, loose connective tissue throughout your feet and body, preventing chronic tightness and pain.

Diabetes can cause nerve damage called diabetic neuropathy that most commonly affects the legs and feet. A recent randomized controlled clinical study demonstrated that an essential oil massage (three times weekly, for four weeks) reduced diabetic neuropathy pain and improved quality of life.
The study used a blend of 1% rosemary, 1% geranium, 1% lavender, 1% lemon eucalyptus,1% chamomile (Roman or German not specified), and 95% coconut oil. 2 mL of the blend was massaged into each foot for 10 minutes and 1 mL was massaged into the hands for 5 minutes each (total of 30 minutes). This process was repeated three times per week for four weeks.
Aromatherapy massage is a well-tolerated, feasible, and safe nonpharmacological method that can be readily integrated into clinical settings by nursing staff. The essential oils rosemary, geranium, lavender, eucalyptus, and chamomile can be safely used by nurses in the clinical setting, if applicable. Aromatherapy massage is a simple and effective nonpharmacological nursing intervention that can be used to manage neuropathic pain and improve QoL in patients with painful neuropathy. However, training and experience of nurses in aromatherapy massage is critical to achieving positive results.

Knee problems can be very frustrating. In fact, a painful knee can prevent you from enjoying your favorite things, such as walking, playing golf, exercising, or gardening. There are many instances where knee pain can even interfere with a good night sleep. To make matters worse many common knee conditions are slow to respond to traditional types of care, often creating further disappointment and aggravation.
A powerful technique known as The Rossiter Stretching is proving to be very effective method to treat many common knee problems. These techniques effectively relieve pain because they stretch out entire bands of connective tissue. They usually get rid of pain and restore fluid, pain-free motion to entire areas of the body.
As we already know connective tissue holds our body together, but it can shorten and tighten over time through overuse (such as poor posture, or repetitive a daily activity) or from an injury. Rather than general stretching, Rossiter stretching, targeting the connective tissue is done with the assistance of the practitioner, and unlike a passive massage treatment, you as the patient are in control of depth of the work and stretch.
The technique involves a practitioner applying pressure to specific areas of the body, to anchor the tissues, while you are guided through movement to actively stretch that particular part of the tissue network.
Results are quick, profound and life-changing. You regain and increase range of motion.
If you are ready to take care of your body in a whole new way, the Rossiter System’s breakthrough techniques are for you! This is a powerful new way to prevent and relieve pain, regain and increase range of motion, and enhance performance. There are no medications, no splints, no injections and no risky surgeries.

Tooth decay and periodontal disease are considered the most prevalent oral diseases. The disease is driven by multifactorial elements, including dental plaque, consumption of high carbohydrates or sugar diets, and poor oral hygiene behaviors. Neglected oral hygiene may lead to the persistence of dental plaque. If not removed regularly, the biofilm undergoes maturation, and the resulting pathogenic bacterial complex can lead to dental caries, gingivitis, and periodontitis.
Mouthwash is one of the most widely used methods for maintaining oral and dental health due to its practical application. Currently, natural antibacterial agents as active ingredients are increasingly favored over synthetic compounds, as natural compounds generally produce fewer side effects even with long‐term use. Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, offers natural remedies for both health concerns and beauty needs. One of the many versatile Ayurvedic herbs is Haritaki. Haritaki is one of the most esteemed herbs in classical Ayurveda—praised for its cleansing, strengthening, and balancing effects on body and mind. Known as the “Mother of all herbs,” it forms the backbone of Triphala, and is traditionally used to support digestion, cognition, elimination, and spiritual clarity. Haritaki is said to have been gifted by Lord Shiva himself and appears frequently in Ta***ic and Buddhist medical traditions. In Tibetan medicine, it is known as the "king of herbs" and associated with longevity, awareness, and energetic purification. Also, Haritaki is often called Abhaya (“fearless”)—the one who bestows courage and mental strength. Haritaki trees are often planted near temples as symbols of wisdom and discipline.
Technically, the fruit of the deciduous myrobalan plum tree,
Haritaki, is considered an important herb in Ayurveda and Siddha medicine, both indigenous systems of medicine in India. The fruit itself is small, oblong, and less than an inch in size. The fruits are often collected when they’re still green and raw and then dried until golden brown or black. They’re then powdered and made into Ayurvedic remedies. The fruit’s potency depends on where it was collected, its color, and its shape.

Famous for their virtues, essential oils or even extracts of Sage were frequently used in traditional medicine since early history. Indeed, grown in different biotopes, Mediterranean Sage essential oils could exhibit its anticancer activity. Anti-tumor activity of sage was proven through its antiangiogenic, anti-migratory and antiproliferative effects.
Sage is well reputed to cure diabetes or prevent its complications. Oral administration of sage essential oil reduced high blood sugar and diabetes-related obesity, liver damage, and kidney damage in a preclinical model of diabetes.During three months, patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus diabetes received Sage tablets (150 mg extract) and showed that the 2 h-postprandial (after-meal) blood sugar and the mean total cholesterol levels were significantly decreased. The obtained results altogether evidenced that Sage EO had hypoglycemic and anti-obesity effects and could be a valuable complement in future diabetes therapy.

Aromatherapy is one of the traditional remedies that uses essential oils extracted from plants based on their scent effects and is currently used in many fields. Aromatherapy is based on the theory that inhaling or absorbing essential oils causes changes within the limbic system, the part of the brain associated with memory and emotion. Aromatherapy stimulates physiological responses in the nervous, endocrine, or immune systems and can affect heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, brain wave activity, and the release of various hormones throughout the body.
