❄️ Office Update from Reeder Psychiatry ❄️

Due to flooding in our building and the current winter weather, all appointments will remain virtual for the remainder of the week.

Our building’s property management team is working diligently around the clock to address the situation, including cleanup and moisture control in affected areas. At this time, elevators are still down, and repairs are ongoing. We will continue to keep you well informed as updates become available.

👉 What patients need to know:
• You will receive Zoom links for your scheduled appointments
• No in-person visits this week
• We’ll communicate promptly as soon as anything changes

In the meantime, please stay safe and warm. Snow days can be tough on mental health, so a few gentle reminders:
• Stick to a simple routine (even in cozy clothes)
• Get natural light when you can
• Move your body a little — stretching counts
• Stay connected with someone you trust
• Be kind to yourself; winter days are heavy for many

And for some extra cheer — Coop, our office dog, is absolutely thriving in these snow days 🐶❄️

Thank you for your patience and flexibility. We’re grateful for you and will continue to keep you updated.

💙

Meet Alyssa Smith, APRN-PMHNP-BC Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Alyssa is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a heart for helping adolescents and adults thrive. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2012, completing a preceptorship at St. Anthony’s adolescent inpatient behavioral unit—where she discovered her passion for mental health and the adolescent population.

Before becoming a provider, Alyssa worked as a registered nurse primarily in surgery, eventually serving as the Director of Surgical Services. She also gained experience in medical sales, marketing, and practice management, giving her a well-rounded understanding of patient care and clinic operations.

She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, specializing in psychiatry across the lifespan. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was inducted into both the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau. Alyssa completed her final year of graduate internship under Dr. Reeder, solidifying her passion for integrative and holistic mental health care, and joined Reeder Psychiatry in 2023.

Pictured with Alyssa is Coop, our beloved office “dog-tor”. You can catch him here daily bringing energy, joy, and emotional support to everyone who walks through our doors. Feel free to cuddle him during your visit… or send him off to roam the halls if you need your space!

Fun Facts About Alyssa

✨ Alyssa pursued a career in mental health after her father passed away in 2015.
“After losing my dad, I felt incredibly alone. I don’t want anyone to have to walk their grief journey by themselves. No words can erase someone’s pain, but if I can help make life even a little brighter, that means everything to me.”
✨ In her spare time, she loves “spending time with my family, fishing, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys (which, let’s be honest, can definitely cause anxiety), reading, writing poetry, and painting.”
