Tonsils and adenoids play different roles, but when either becomes enlarged or infected, they can affect how your child feels, breathes and sleeps.

Symptoms may include frequent sore throats, trouble swallowing, mouth breathing, nasal congestion or recurring ear infections. If these concerns persist or interfere with your child’s daily life, a pediatric ENT can help determine what’s causing them and recommend the right next steps.

Is mouth breathing normal for kids?
Occasional mouth breathing can happen, but frequent mouth breathing, snoring or ongoing congestion may be a sign that your child is having trouble breathing comfortably through their nose.

A pediatric ENT can help identify the cause and find ways to help your child breathe and sleep more comfortably.

Parent FAQ: How should I clean my child's ears?

βœ”οΈ Wipe the outside of the ear with a soft washcloth.
❌ Skip cotton swabs, which can push wax deeper into the ear.
πŸ’§ If wax buildup becomes a concern, talk with your child's ENT provider.

Remember, earwax is there for a reason. It helps protect and keep your child's ears healthy. If you have concerns about your child's earwax, ear pain, or hearing, Pediatric ENT of Oklahoma is here to help.

Going above and beyond is just who John is.

When a family who had traveled more than two hours for their Pediatric ENT of Oklahoma appointment found themselves stranded in our parking lot, John didn't hesitate to help. He spent nearly 45 minutes troubleshooting, tracked down jumper cables from coworkers, and even tried a second set before finally getting the family's car started.

The family was incredibly grateful, and thanks to John's kindness and determination, they were able to make it home safely. We're proud to recognize team members like John who go above and beyond to care for our patients and their families, both inside and outside the clinic. Congratulations, John!πŸ’™
