We are excited to now offer Parent-Led ABA for families in rural areas or those who cannot fit the typical hours required for traditional ABA into their schedules.

Parent-Led ABA prioritizes caregiver empowerment and collaboration, giving parents and caregivers practical tools to support their learner's goals during everyday routines at home and in the community.

Parent-Led ABA provides individualized guidance and oversight from a BCBA while helping caregivers build confidence in supporting meaningful progress in areas such as communication, daily living skills, behavior, toileting, feeding, sleep, and more.

You do not have to navigate your child’s needs alone. Parent-Led ABA can offer flexible, family-centered support designed to fit real life.

“Am I supposed to understand my child by now?” 👀

This is one of the most common questions parents ask.

Speech clarity develops over time, and these milestones are a general guide. Every child’s communication journey looks different.

Remember: speech and language are not the same. A child can have so much to say and still need support being understood.

If your child becomes frustrated because others have difficulty understanding them, it may be time to check in with a speech-language pathologist.

What counts as a word? 💬🌱

Many parents wonder if their child’s sounds, approximations, or signs “really count” as words. The answer? They can!

In early communication, we look at connection and intention—not perfection. A word doesn’t have to be pronounced clearly to be meaningful. What matters is that your child is using it to communicate a message.

Early words may include:
✨ word approximations
✨ animal or environmental sounds
✨ signs
✨ consistent labels for people, objects, or actions

As children grow, we gradually support clearer speech sounds too. Around ages 4–5, we begin placing more focus on speech clarity while continuing to celebrate the child’s communication and confidence.

So when you hear “ba” for ball or “woof” for dog, remember: your child is communicating. 🌟

Every attempt to connect is a step toward language growth.

Myth: Baby sign language delays talking.
Fact: Sign language supports spoken language.

Before words emerge, children need foundational skills like gestures, turn-taking, imitation, and joint attention. Signs offer a concrete bridge during this developmental stage.

When we embrace total communication, we reduce frustration and help little ones feel understood. 🌱

Big emotions are a part of childhood. Learning how to understand and express them is a skill that develops over time.

When children are overwhelmed, they may not have the words or self-regulation skills to communicate what they need. Their behavior is often communication.

Supporting emotional development doesn’t require perfect responses. Small, consistent moments of connection can make a big difference.

Here are a few ways to support your child through big emotions:
🌱 Give feelings a name.
🌱 Model words for wants and needs.
🌱 Connect before correcting.
🌱 Help your child feel safe before expecting them to problem solve.
🌱 Use everyday moments to build emotional vocabulary.

The goal isn’t to eliminate big feelings. It’s to help children develop the skills to recognize, communicate, and work through them with confidence.

Which strategy are you excited to try this week?

Supporting your child’s development doesn’t mean having all the answers. It means being willing to listen, learn, advocate, and meet your child where they are.

Your child’s communication style, strengths, and needs are all part of their unique journey. The support you provide today helps build confidence, connection, and independence for tomorrow.

Save these affirmations for the moments you need a reminder: you are learning, you are growing, and your effort matters. 🌱

Connection builds communication.
Play builds language.
Your child doesn’t need pressure to “perform”—they need space to explore, and someone who meets them where they are.
They are already communicating. We’re just here to help it grow. 🌱
