This post truly comes from the depth of my heart.

The Open Door Mission has always been apart of my life.
From a child whose mother struggled with addiction this place offered food, shelter and housing programs.
As a teen single mother ODM offered clothes and toys.
When my house burnt down they donated the essentials needed for my family to survive and so much support with resources.

I and my daughter have volunteered at the Timberlake outreach center together multiple times. I also only give to the ODM (NEVER THE GOODWILL!!) and to see the shelves so bare is heartbreaking.

So with that being sad, I would love to help them stock some shelves. If you book ANY 60 min swedish massage through September and October and bring in 5 or more perishable food items, you will receive $30 off your total!! that's a 60 min massage at an 80$ value for only $50! (Good for one apt per person)

If you're not sure when you would like to book. Drop off your items early and recieve the credit for when your ready!!

Life is so hard for everyone right now.. it really takes a village these days!

šŸ“¢ People often think massage therapy starts the moment my hands touch your body. šŸ’†ā€ā™€ļø

For me, it starts long before that.

It starts with making sure my space is clean, peaceful, and welcoming.

🌿It starts with the products I carefully choose—organic laundry detergent free of dyes and harsh chemicals because your skin deserves better. My massage cream is vegan, fragrance-free, and free from unnecessary chemicals because what goes on your body matters just as much as the work I do!

It means taking care of myself. Mentally. Physically. Emotionally. Because I can't pour healing into others if I'm running on empty.

Every detail has intention.

The music. The temperature of the room. The fresh linens. The cleanliness. The quality and safeness of the products I use. The continuous learning. The energy I bring into each session.

My passion for this work has never been just about massage.
It's about creating a space where you feel safe... cared for... heard... and supported.

My love for my clients goes far beyond my hands. It's found in every choice I make before you ever step onto my table.
Because healing isn't just something I do.

It's something I deeply believe in. ā¤ļø

🌼 Herb of the Day: Calendula 🌼

Did you know?

Calendula flowers open in the morning and close at night, which is why they’ve long been associated with the sun, vitality, and renewal. In older traditions, they symbolized consistency, hope, and the life force. It was used during wars to help clean wounds and support healing. Its natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties made it a go-to when nothing else was available.

Calendula is

🌟 a great deep lymphatic support Herb helping clear stagnation

🌟 is known for helping speed up tissue repair, making it amazing for, cuts & scrapes, rashes, burns, and dry or cracked skin

🌟 when infused into oil, it pulls out its healing compounds—that target inflammation, sore muscles, and irritated skin. Especially great for tendon! I suffer from tennis elbow and my Infused oil has helped tremendously! An amazing Herb for bodyworkers!! ā¤ļø

🌿 Herb of the Day: Ginger 🌿
Latin name: Zingiber officinale

Ginger and I have a love/hate relationship. She is not the best tasteing but she is one of those powerhouse herbs that has been used for thousands of years in both traditional medicine and modern wellness!

Gingers Energetics:
Warming, stimulating, and moving—great for when the body feels cold, sluggish, or stuck.

✨ Some Benefits:

• Digestive support – Ginger helps stimulate digestion, reduce bloating, and ease nausea (including motion sickness and morning sickness). I drank alot of lemon ginger tea during chemo

• Ginger Helps Fade Scars – In a study titled Skin Ageing: Natural Weapons and Strategies, researchers found that ginger’s toning and antioxidant properties help reduce the appearance of hypo-pigmented (white/light) scars

• Anti-inflammatory – Contains active compounds like gingerols that help reduce inflammation in the body, which may support joint and muscle comfort.

• Immune support – Its warming nature helps the body fight off colds and may ease sore throats and congestion.

• fun fact!! Ginger is a Cellulite-Buster – If you’ve got skin dimples anywhere other than your cheeks, try this body scrub: 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup olive oil, 2 tablespoons of freshly grated ginger, and the zest of one lemon.

What are some ways you incorporate ginger?!

HERB OF THE DAY:

CLEAVERS - latin name Gallium aparine

I chose cleavers today because we experienced the tea saturday and learned to identify it on our herbal walk. As I am harvesting dandelions in my yard I came across cleavers and was able to identify it!! (i did use my plant app to be 100%) but I was estatic that I just identified my first herb in nature!! (as my instuctor says NERD OUT haha)

Cleavers is often called "sticky w***y" because it'll literally stick to you and has incredible power for gentle, whole body support.

Cleavers Benefits:
- helps move stagnation and reduce swelling by supporting the lymphatic system
- assists the body in clearing waste by acting as a natural detoxifier
- can act as a mild diuretic and support urinary health

Because our lymph system does not have its own pump and relies on movement, cleavers helps assist in keeping things flowing which will leave you feeling less puffy and more balanced.

Herb of the Day: ROSEMARY

Rosemary has got to be one of my absolute favorite herbs.
In my program we talk about what herb really suites our constitution, what herbs are we drawn to and mine is 100% Rosemary. I love the smell and the benefits.

Rosemary:
- stimulates the scalp, which supports hair growth ( I was a naked mole rat when I did chemo) I made a rosemary and clove infused water and used it one to two times a day and within a year my hair was full, thick and touching my shoulders.
- contains antimicrobial properties, which provides a great product for skin health
- rich in antioxidants, which helps protect the body from damage
- can act as a natural "pick -me-up" and mood up lifter. There are studies showing that inhaling rosemary can improve focus, alertness, and reduce feelings of stress.

These are just a few of the wonderful benefits of Rosemary.

Do you use Rosemary in your daily routine? Let me hear your Rosemary success stories!!

šŸ”Š You don’t need to fix everything… you just need a little grounding! šŸ§˜ā€ā™€ļø

No more cold weather as an excuse!

We live in a world that keeps us overstimulated, overwhelmed, and constantly ā€œon.ā€

And after a while, your body starts to feel it… your mind races, your shoulders tighten, your breath gets shallow.

That’s your sign.

That’s your body asking you to come back.

This is where healing starts… not in the hustle, but in the stillness.

You don’t have to have it all together.

You don’t have to keep pushing through!

....JUST PAUSE ....

Breathe in peace, light, and calm.
Exhale the weight you’ve been carrying.
Come back to your body.
Come back to yourself.
That’s where your power is. šŸ¤
