Ronald Francis Wilbur

Rev. Ronald F. Wilbur

Rev. Ronald F. Wilbur was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, pastor, and beloved servant of God. His life was marked by an unwavering faith, a deep love for his family, and a calling to ministry that remained at the center of his life until his passing.

Growing up in Old Town, Maine, Ronald was active in his community and school. He played quarterback for Old Town High School and was a member of the track and field team. Before entering full-time ministry, he worked in the ironworking and welding field, developing the strong work ethic and determination that would remain with him throughout his life.

In 1967, Ronald attended United Pentecostal Bible Institute. It was there that he met the love of his life, Lois—famously meeting her in a snowbank. That meeting would begin a lifelong love story and a partnership that would carry them through decades of ministry and family life together.

After graduating from United Pentecostal Bible Institute, Ronald assisted Rev. Harold Churchill in Caribou, Maine. In 1973, he moved his family to Machias, Maine, where he pastored for three years. He then spent a short period of time in Calais, Maine, before moving to St. Stephen, New Brunswick, where he became the founding pastor of Eldridge United Pentecostal Church.

Ronald remained in St. Stephen for eight years before moving to Noonan, New Brunswick, where he pastored for another five years. In 1990, he returned to his home state of Maine, moving to Old Town to found New Life Apostolic Church. During this time, he drove a school bus for the Orono, Maine, school system and for Cyr Bus Line. He later became an employee of the City of Bangor, where he worked faithfully for 26 years.

For Ronald, ministry was more than a calling—it was his life. He faithfully served as pastor of New Life Apostolic Church until his retirement in 2021. Even after retiring as pastor, he continued serving as Bishop, remaining devoted to the church, to his congregation, and to the work of God until the end of his life.

While his ministry touched countless lives, Ronald’s greatest treasures were his family and his faith. He was a loving husband to Lois and a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His legacy will live on not only through the church he founded and the many lives he influenced, but also through the generations of his family who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Wilbur; his children, Mark and Jen Wilbur, Beth and Kyle Stoops, and Marcy and Mike Bartkiewicz; his grandchildren, Sherraiah, Josiah, Gabriel, Isaiah, Lucas, and Lauren; and his great-grandchildren, Natalia, Dawson, Sawyer, Zariyah, Taron, and Wilbur. He is also survived by his sibling, Fernald Wilbur.

He was predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Dorothy Wilbur, and his brothers, Stanley Wilbur and Wayne Wilbur.

Ronald leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, perseverance, and service. His life was devoted to God, his family, and the people he was called to serve. Though he is deeply missed, his family and those whose lives he touched can find comfort in knowing that the work he loved so dearly was a life well lived.

His ministry was his calling. His family was his treasure. His faith was his legacy.

Jean Marie Gaetani

Jean Marie (Hackett) Gaetani Obituary

OLD TOWN--After 97.5 years of life, Jean Marie (Hackett) Gaetani passed away peacefully at her camp on Cold Stream Pond in Enfield, Maine, on August 26 surrounded by her seven children. Born and raised in East Millinocket, Jean Marie Hackett met and married the love of her life Dr Peter Gaetani. They spent their married life together in Old Town where Peter was an optometrist and where they raised their seven children. Jean was the youngest child of Lorenzo Clair Hackett and Martha Ferne (Greenlaw) Hackett. Her extended family was from the Oxbow, Masardis, Island Falls, and Patten area and she had some very entertaining “back in the day” stories involving cousin Ida Mae; Jean was quite the storyteller. Jean will be remembered as a kind, warm, energetic, and humorous woman and as a loving wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend.

Jean played women’s basketball at Schenck High School. She graduated from Husson College and worked for the McKernon family’s newspaper The Penobscot Times. She and Peter shared interesting adventures while Peter spent 2 years as the Optometry Officer at the U. S. Army Hospital at Fort Dix, New Jersey, during the Korean War before settling in Old Town. Over the years, she became accomplished in many creative hobbies and activities, most memorably for family are the knit and crocheted afghans, the baskets she wove, the antiques she collected, the snowmobiling days at the lake, her presence at school and athletic activities, and her membership in local women’s groups, all while raising seven children. She was an avid NY Giants football fan and her children and friends remember that you could only talk during the commercials on game days! She and Peter were snowbirds for many years, enjoying their time at Peck’s Plaza in Daytona Beach Shores with new and old friends. Some of the family’s best memories come from the time spent at the camp on Cold Stream Pond each summer. Stories abound about Jean’s 4th of July parades with music, creative costumes, boat parades, and lots of food with relatives and friends. In recent years, she valued her time riding on the pontoon boat, sitting on the deck at camp visiting with family who were there often and friends Dottie and Howard Folster, as well as her many road trip adventures and Celtics game discussions with Patti Wheelden. Jean treasured all her family and friends, her home and camp were welcoming places.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Dr. Peter Gaetani in August of 2016; by her parents and by siblings Christine Grant and her husband Emery and her brother Richard; by grandson Justin, son of Peter and Cathy Gaetani; and by Gus LeBlanc, husband of Patti Gaetani LeBlanc. Jean will be sadly missed by her three daughters (Patti LeBlanc of Auburn, Janice Anderson and her husband Don of Forest, VA, Judy Wiberg and her husband Erik of Falmouth) and by her four sons (Peter Gaetani and his wife Cathy of Milo, David and his wife Karen of Enfield, Dr John Gaetani and his wife Dr Anne Hall of Old Town, Brian Gaetani and his wife Amy of Brewer) and by her 11 grandchildren (Christina Morse, Nicholas LeBlanc, Jenni Parker, Erin Ford, Garrett Gaetani, Gina Finn, Mark Gaetani, Claire Gaetani, Nichole Guilfoyle, Kate Anderson, Cali Wiberg), and 12 great grandchildren.

Many thanks to Patti Wheelden and Audrey Savoy for being caretakers for many years and to the team at St Joseph Hospice of Bangor who also helped the family keep Jean in her home and camp.

A wake will be held from 4-7:00pm on Sunday, August 30 at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St, Old Town. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00am at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. Friends and family are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life at Holy Family Parish Hall at 11:30am for a light luncheon and continued fellowship; parking and entrance can be reached from the Brunswick Street entrance. Dolores S. Simon

ORONO – Dolores S. Simon, 88, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Wednesday August 19, 2026. She was born on September 27, 1937 in Winterville, Maine, the daughter of the late Zephirin and Yvonne (Gauvin) Boutot.

Dolores moved from Winterville to Old Town, Maine after marrying her beloved husband Walter on July 7, 1956. They were loving and supportive parents to their son Gregory and enjoyed 48 years together until Walter’s passing in 2004. Dolores had a working career during many of those years that included making shoes at one of the Old Town shoe shops, providing daycare services at her home for the children of friends and family, and as a sales clerk at W T Grants. She was also a lifelong member of St. Mary’s and Holy Family Parishes in Old Town.

Dolores was a kind and generous person. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and, because she lived many miles away from them, every visit was cherished by her. She also was very involved in charity work which included her time as a past president of the Knights of Columbus council 2537 women’s auxiliary, leader of the Holy Family Rosary Makers, member of the Holy Family Funeral luncheon ministry, and knitter of many pairs of mittens for the K of C’s support to families in the community who were in need. Later in life, Dolores took up the game of golf and especially enjoyed playing with her friends and her family. She also had a passion for plants, spending hours working in her garden or tending to the many plants in her home.

Dolores is survived by and will be greatly missed by her son Gregory and his wife Patricia of Venice FL; her three grandchildren Jessica Villegas and her husband Sam of Winter Garden FL, Jeffrey Mitchell and his wife Anya of McKinney, TX, David Simon and his wife Nina of Philadelphia, PA; and her four great grandchildren, Carter, Grant, Adam, and Damian; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by brothers, Roland Boutot of Chicopee MA, Rudolph Boutot of Portage, and Albenie Boutot of Winterville. Dolores was predeceased by her husband Walter; brothers Lionel Boutot, Gerald Boutot, Camille Boutot, Reginald Boutot, and Antonio Boutot; and sisters, Marie Taylor and Lillian Labbe. She was also predeceased by a special friend, Roger Parent.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Dirigo Pines for the exceptional care that they provided to our Mom and Memere over the past three years.

Friends and family may call 9:00-11:00AM on Friday, September 4 at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St. Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following at 11:00AM at The Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, 429 Main Street, Old Town. Committal will be held immediately following the service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Old Town. Friends and family are invited to the Holy Family Parish Hall following the burial for a luncheon and celebration of Dolores.

Randy Michael Day

BREWER— Randy Michael Day, 60, died unexpectedly August 19, 2026. He was born February 25, 1966, in Bangor, a son of Richard “Dick” and Jean (Clukey) Day.

Randy was a 1984 graduate of Old Town High School, where he was a standout three-sport athlete-gaining the nickname “Butkus”, competing in baseball, basketball, and football. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served as a Hospital Corpsman from 1986 to 1990. After returning home to Maine, he attended Husson University to pursue a career in nursing, where he also played lacrosse. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1998

Athletics remained an important part of Randy’s life well beyond his school years. He enjoyed playing softball and lacrosse and found great satisfaction in coaching and encouraging young athletes. He was active in his community, coaching his children’s teams and helping establish the Brewer Youth Lacrosse Club. His career as a nurse took him to communities throughout the United States, allowing him to care for others while experiencing different parts of the country.

Randy had many interests, but perhaps nothing brought him more enjoyment than sports, hunting, and spending time with his animals. He especially adored his Jack Russell, Max. He was a man who loved his family deeply and was, in every sense of the words, a protector and provider. Family gatherings were important to him, particularly time spent at camp on Beech Hill and together around the holidays.

Randy was never one to hide what he thought. He always spoke his piece, and with Randy, you never had to wonder where you stood. Those who knew him best understood that his love was always there—in the way he protected, provided for, showed up, and cared for the people he loved. He was an amazing dad!

He will be remembered for many things, including his legendary “Haunted Forest” at Halloween, which became a special part of his family’s traditions and a reflection of his ability to bring people together and create lasting memories.

To his military family, the Forever Brothers Red Dogs, he will always be remembered simply as “Doc.” His service, his brotherhood, and the bonds he formed with those who served alongside him remained an important part of who he was.

Randy is survived by his wife of 32 years, Melissa; his children, Ryan; Kassi and her companion, Lindy; and Kelsi and her companion, Taylor; his mother, Jean Day; his brother, Corey Day and his wife, Jennifer; niece, Kayla Estes and her husband, Casey; nephew, Wyatt Day; and his mother- and father-in-law, Hugh and Junita Drisko; brother-in-law Keith Drisko and companion Amy Cross and children Hagen Cross and Nyx Cross.

He was predeceased by his father, Richard “Dick” Day.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Randy’s life from 4:30–6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street, Old Town. At 6:30 p.m., Navy Honors will be rendered, followed by prayers offered by Fr. Erin Donlon.

Mary Elizabeth Rustin

MILFORD--Mary Elizabeth Rustin, 94, passed away peacefully August 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.

She was born August 3, 1932 in Orono a daughter of Leslie J and Rosanna (Bishop) Francis. Mary was the beloved wife of Wesley Rustin Sr., with whom she shared an extraordinary 75 years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering devotion to one another.

She was a loving mother to her four children, Debbie Forsing, Belva Hamlin, Wesley Rustin Jr and Dale Rustin and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Nothing brought Mary more joy than spending time with her family, sharing stories, creating memories, and enjoying the laughter of those she loved most.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Dale Rustin, and her parents, Leslie and Rose Francis.

Known for her quick wit, infectious laughter, and kind heart, Mary had a special gift for bringing joy to every room she entered. Her warm smile, sense of humor, and caring nature touched the lives of family, friends, and neighbors alike. She made people feel welcome, valued, and loved, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Though our hearts are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in the many wonderful memories she leaves behind. Mary's love, laughter, and gentle spirit will continue to live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

She will be forever loved, remembered, and dearly missed.

Robert S. Scott, 84, of Milford, passed away peacefully on August 16th, 2026.

Robert was born on May 26, 1942 in Belfast, ME, to Frank I Scott and Barbara Bradstreet. He lived in Belfast prior to moving to Milford. He graduated from Crossby High School and attended Husson College. He worked for trucking companies as a dispatcher.

Robert was a devoted husband to his wife, Carolyn, whom he married July 26th, 1986. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother and cherished the time he spent with his family.

He was predeceased by his parents.

He was survived by his wife, Carolyn Scott, of Milford, ME; His sister, Barbara A Scott, from Waldoboro, ME; Two daughters, Lori Girhiny, of E Longmeadow, MA, and Robin McElhoe and husband Don McElhoe, from Montrose, Iowa. Special friends Vonda and Brian Smith and "adoptive grandchildren" Adam and Ashley; grandchildren, Nicole, Lia, and Tasha; and several special great grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Robert will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Dana Charles Storer

Dana C Storer, 62, died unexpectedly July 6, 2026 at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 28, 1953 a set of twin born to Charles and Shirley (Ambrose) Storer.

Dana survived despited being the smallest and having Cerebral Palsy and was not excpected to live beyond the age of 12.

He was raised in Brunswick where he attended schools graduating from Brunswick High School, known to his classmates as Thumper Joe.

He eventually moved to Old Town in 1977 to be with his girlfriend Brenda and son Jimmy. He enjoyed being a step dad to Jimmy and taught him to brook and ice fish and ride a snowmobile. Dana was a good and kind man who will be missed. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with good friends Babby Lamarre and Brian Cote.

He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Brenda Festerman; her son Jimmy; sisters Patricia and Sharon, several nieces and nephews and his little buddies, his dogs.

Clinton Earl Getchell

MILFORD- Clinton E. Getchell, 69, died July 13, 2026 at a Bangor hospital. He was born September 4, 1956 in Middleborough, MA a son of Owen and Beaulah (Lancaster) Getchell.

Clint was a hardworking man who spent much of his career behind the wheel as a truck driver. He took great pride in an honest day's work and was known for his dependability, dedication, and strong work ethic.

When he wasn't working, Clint was happiest outdoors. He loved spending summers at Pushaw Lake Campground, where countless memories were made with family and friends. Whether he was out on his boat, casting a line while fishing, heading into the woods to hunt, or exploring the trails on his ATV, Clint found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of Maine's outdoors. A devoted New England sports fan, Clint rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his beloved Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.

More than anything, Clint will be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him. He had a wonderfully crazy sense of humor and a contagious laugh that could brighten any room. Even during his final days, he continued to joke with those around him, a testament to the positive spirit and resilience that defined his life.

Beneath his playful nature was a man with an enormous heart. Clint loved deeply and unconditionally, always putting family and those he cared about first. At the center of his life was his beloved wife, Valerie (Anderson) Getchell. Together they shared 41 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, unwavering devotion, and countless cherished memories. Their partnership was one of enduring friendship and steadfast love, serving as the foundation of the family they created together.

He is survived by his beloved wife Valerie; three children and their spouses: Melissa Getchell and wife Corina of Sangerville, Kevin Getchell and wife Heather of Florida, Lacey Goslin and husband Jey of Indian Island; seven grandchildren Drew Carroll, Reese Carroll, Jeff Getchell, Kristin Martel, Evan Goslin, Trever Goslin, Isaac Goslin; great grandchildren Henry and Kaiser Herzberg; four siblings Nancy Free, Dianna Murphy and her husband Jim, Donna Getchell, and Wayne Getchell and his wife Rena; a best bud Tim Mishou; many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by seven siblings Ingerson Getchell, Joanne Chase, Carolyn Nealy, Betsina Parson, Richard Getchell, Donald Getchell and Owen Getchell Jr.

A funeral service will be conducted 2PM Friday at Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where friends and family will gather from 1PM until time of service. Burial will be at Milford Cemetery.
