Jené Gardner is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York and received her Masters in Mental Health Counselling from Medaille College Amherst in 2013. She received her CASAC in 2014 and has worked with Substance Use Disorders since that time. From the age of 12, Jené knew that she wanted to be a counselor. She was inspired by watching her father’s work with the church in her hom

etown and how his willingness to invest in others made such a difference in their lives. Through this she followed a path that would allow her to help people through their struggles. She has always been good at listening and helping others, and after taking her first psychology course in college, she knew she had found her life’s purpose and never looked back. Jené utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in her practice as her tried and true approach. In addition she also uses Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. She loves engaging and building a therapeutic alliance with her clients and is humbled and honored to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for them to share their experiences, their traumas and their journey. Jené’s favorite part of being a counselor is seeing the growth and change in people’s mindset and behaviors, to see hope blossom within them, and their core beliefs changing for the better. She considers herself to be trustworthy and engaging and works towards providing hope in situations which seem hopeless. Outside of work, Jené is an avid reader, a singer an ASL interpreter, a chocolate and coffee lover, and a mother of 4 beautiful children.
