🦷 An Important Update from Universal Primary Care – Houghton Dental Clinic

We would like to share that Dr. Stoj, Dentist, at the Houghton, NY Dental Clinic will be leaving Universal Primary Care effective January 14, 2027, as she has made the decision to pursue an opportunity closer to home.

We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and contributions to our Houghton community, particularly her instrumental role in getting our dental services back up and running in Houghton! Her efforts have helped restore access to much-needed dental care for our patients and community, and we sincerely thank her for all she has done. We wish her nothing but happiness and success in this next chapter! 💙

What does this mean for our patients?

🦷 We are actively recruiting a new dentist to join our Houghton team and remain committed to providing dental services to the community.

🦷 Dr. Williamson will continue seeing patients at our Houghton Dental Clinic in the interim to help maintain access to dental care.

🦷 We ask for your patience and understanding. During this transition, patients may experience longer wait times or delays in scheduling appointments as we work with limited provider availability.

At Universal Primary Care, we recognize how important access to dental care is, especially in our rural communities. Please know that maintaining dental services in Houghton remains a priority, and we are working diligently to recruit another dentist to serve our patients.

At Universal Primary Care, ensuring continuity of care for our patients remains a top priority.

📬 Patient Notifications: Patients impacted by this retirement will receive letters with additional information regarding their care and next steps.

🩺 Provider Recruitment: We are actively recruiting a new pediatrician to serve the Cuba community and are committed to continuing access to quality healthcare for local families.

🩺💙 It’s Medical Assistants Recognition Day! 💙🩺

If you’ve visited Universal Primary Care, chances are a Medical Assistant has been an important part of your visit!

Our MAs are often among the first clinical team members our patients see. They prepare patients for their visit, take vital signs, update medical information, assist providers with procedures, administer medications and vaccines as appropriate, coordinate testing, answer questions, and help keep our clinics moving throughout the day.

Healthcare can sometimes feel overwhelming — and no one should have to navigate it alone.

During Case Management Week, we’re proud to recognize the incredible RN Care Managers at UPC who work alongside our patients, providers, and community partners to help coordinate care, overcome barriers, and provide support when it’s needed most.

🤰 Our OB RN Care Managers help guide and support patients throughout pregnancy — answering questions, providing education, connecting patients with resources, coordinating care, and helping them navigate the journey from pregnancy through delivery and postpartum care.

💜 Our MAT RN Care Managers work closely with patients receiving Medication-Assisted Treatment, providing compassionate, judgment-free support, education, care coordination, and connections to resources as patients work toward their health and recovery goals.

Case management is about more than coordinating appointments and services. It’s about advocacy, trust, support, and meeting patients where they are.
