There are nights when the sky seems to remember that it, too, can dream.

The aurora bends over the horizon, drifts through the clouds, and meets the ice illuminated by the Moon. For a few moments, everything changes: the landscape is no longer just matter, but becomes movement, color, and silence.

Before a scene like this, we realize that nature never repeats exactly the same spectacle. It simply opens a brief window — and it is up to us to be present when it happens.

Between the ice and the stars, the night reveals its own form of eternity. ✨

The Keeper of the Seed-Wind

When the moon rose pale
above the sleeping grass,
the small Keeper stepped forward
from beneath the wings of night.

He wore no crown of gold.
His antlers were branches of memory,
his body painted with the colors
of earth, blood, water, and sky.

Around him stood the white seed-flowers,
each holding a thousand journeys
inside one fragile breath.

The Ravens watched from above,
dark guardians at the edge of dreaming.
They did not call out.
They knew the ceremony of silence.

Then the wind entered the meadow.

One by one,
the seeds released their hold
and rose toward the moon
small spirits leaving the old stem,
trusting a road they could not see.

The Keeper lifted his arms
and listened to the grass whisper:

Nothing born of the earth
belongs to one place forever.

Some lives are roots.
Some lives are wings.
Some remain beside us,
and some must travel
beyond the reach of our hands.

Still, nothing is truly lost.

The seed remembers the flower.
The wind remembers the field.
The moon remembers every shadow
that once crossed beneath her light.

And so the small Keeper danced
not from happiness,
not from sorrow,
but from the sacred knowing
that both are carried
inside the same turning circle.

Before dawn, he disappeared
among the tall green blades.

Only the drifting seeds remained,
moving through the darkness
like quiet prayers

each one carrying
a piece of the old world
toward a place
where life could begin again.

In my late summer garden, the three sisters have become 2 sisters, with the squash climbing the corn stalks and the beans and peas phasing themselves out early.

A friend recently posted about Corn Silk tinctures, and those silky strands we generally compost, have some strong medicinal values to lend!

1. Keeps your urinary system healthy

Corn silk extract can act as a powerful diuretic, making you p*e more. “Increased urine flow can prevent the buildup of bacteria that leads to urinary tract infections (UTIs) and bladder infections,” says Campbell. And if you do get a UTI or bladder infection, corn silk extract soothes inflammation to ease pain.

Increased urination can also help strengthen your bladder. Healthcare providers sometimes recommend corn silk extract or teas for children experiencing bedwetting and adults with urinary incontinence. Corn silk may also prevent kidney stones and protect against kidney damage caused by certain medications or cancer treatments.

The diuretic properties of corn silk may also lower blood pressure. But Campbell cautions that people who already take diuretics or blood pressure medicine may be at risk for losing too much potassium. This could lead to low blood potassium levels or hypokalemia. “Low potassium is concerning because it can affect the way your heart beats,” says Campbell. “It’s always important to check with your healthcare provider before taking a supplement.”

2. Fights inflammation

The plant pigment or flavonoid that gives corn silks their light green, yellow, brown or red colors is also an antioxidant. In fact, corn silk has as much antioxidant value as vitamin C. “Antioxidants protect against inflammation and the effects of aging, as well as diseases like cancer and diabetes,” notes Campbell.

Have a cat companion or 13?
Drop a pic!

Today is International Cat Day! 🐈️ Cats around the world are surrounded by fun folklore and interesting myths.

In Britain, especially Wales, it was believed that rain was likely if a cat busily washed its ears.

In Holland, cats could predict the wind by clawing at carpets and curtains.

If a cat licked its fur against the grain, it meant a hailstorm was coming; if it sneezed, rain was on the way; and if it was frisky, the wind would soon blow.

Some folks even believed cats could start storms through magic, so sailors always made sure cats were content. 🐈️ Learn more at Almanac.com/can-cats-predict-weather-changes

At some point, and it will be very soon, humanity is going to have to realize that taking care of each other & our home planet aren’t weird, fringe, hippie ideals. They are vital to the survival of life as we know it.

This is not a new idea.
It is, however, becoming more apparent every day.

Sun in Leo trine Saturn retrograde in Aries - Strengthen yourself from the inside out by defining who you are and who you want to be. Today’s aspect makes it easier to see how much you have grown. Life is tough but you’re tougher. Celebrate all you have learned so far. Name the next mountain to climb. Clarify your purpose. Reconnect with the real you beyond the part you play. Know your true limits and acknowledge where you limit yourself. Give yourself permission to get serious about your life.

Stability comes from acting with integrity and knowing what’s right for you. Invest time and energy into yourself and your future. Tap into the experience of someone older, a teacher or other authority figure if necessary. In turn, share your own expertise. Hard work brings a sense of accomplishment. Go the extra mile. Use your time wisely. Be patient. You are an artist manifesting your greatest work.

The Sabian symbol for the Sun in Leo is 15 Leo, A pageant – and it strikes me as Leo at its most Leonine. It’s like a little kid who gets to march in a pageant, or ride a float, and generally feels incredible about it. Everyone is looking at me! Leo never feels more alive than when it’s the object of attention.

It's not enough, of course. The Sun's trine to Saturn (Aug. 6, 2026, 7:44 pm PDT), at 14º38' Aries on the symbol An Indian weaving a basket, is a reminder of that. I mean, it’s an image of someone creating something, and whatever it’s used for, it could potentially at least be something useful.

Look, pageants are fun. Leo feels great when it’s being noticed. And it’s great that it shines and shows the world that it’s okay to stand out and to be noticed. But you know, we talk about how creative Leo is, but what does that mean? It means that there’s a part of you that’s Leo’s territory, and it knows how to use its skills and talents to make something.

“Touch the earth to reconnect with your light.
Pass on peace to all you meet. “ ❤️

Last Quarter Moon in Ta**us. Venus enters Libra - We are now at the last turn in the lunar cycle, a time of release as we move towards the dark of the Moon and solar eclipse. It’s time to attend to practical matters. Clear the ground of dead wood. Let go of what never came to fruition. Recycle. Eat well, sleep well. Recharge your batteries. Feed your creativity through recreation. Survival does not have to come at a cost to your creative self-expression.

Life is a collaboration – between partners and associates, between souls, between humans and the Gods and Mother Nature. Compromise and a fair exchange of time and energy allows for growth and fosters connection. Slow down and appreciate life’s beauty. Spend quality time with those you love. Touch the Earth to reconnect to your light. Pass on peace to all you meet.
