Rinaldo R. Alexandria, aka Alessandro, 93, of Dickson City, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, with his devoted wife, the former Mary Ellen Donnelly, faithfully by his side. Just weeks before, they had been looking forward to celebrating their twelfth wedding anniversary on August 26, 2026.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Antonio and Felicia Alessandro. A proud patriot, Rinaldo honorably served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that remained a source of pride throughout his life. While serving in the Navy, he also competed in featherweight boxing.

Rinaldo was a man of remarkable talent, curiosity, and ingenuity. Blessed with a beautiful singing voice and a self-taught gift for the piano, he found great joy in music, especially jazz standards and the timeless songs of Frank Sinatra. Whether entertaining family and friends at the piano or taking the microphone for a favorite karaoke tune, he never missed an opportunity to share his love of music with those around him.

An accomplished winemaker, Rinaldo enjoyed crafting his own wines and sharing them with family and friends. He also had a lifelong appreciation for sports cars, friendly card games, and the occasional trip to the casino. Gifted with exceptional mechanical ability, he possessed a unique talent for taking virtually anything apart and rebuilding it better than before. His resourcefulness and determination were admired by all who knew him.

Above all else, Rinaldo cherished his family. He had a special affection for children, whose laughter always brought a smile to his face, and he found faithful companionship in his beloved dog, Scruffy. His kindness, gentle spirit, quick wit, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Ellen Donnelly-Alexandria, of Dickson City, Pennsylvania; three sons, Richard Robert Alexandria and his girlfriend, Anna, of Newport News, Virginia; Mark Anthony Alexandria and his girlfriend, Dina, of Freehold, New Jersey; and Victor Patrick Alexandria and his girlfriend, Desirae, of Brooklyn, New York; a sister, Antoinette and her husband, John, of Boston, Massachusetts; a brother, Roger and his wife, Lorraine, of Boston, Massachusetts; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, including a grandson with whom he shared a close connection, Mark Alessandro Jr., and his wife Daniella, of Freehold, New Jersey.

Rinaldo was also loved and cherished by his wife's children, Reinaldo Segui Jr. and his wife, Renata, of Old Bridge, New Jersey; John Senia and his wife, Colleen, of Conway, South Carolina; and Leana Senia and her boyfriend, Mario Torres, of Brooklyn, New York.

Additional survivors include his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sharon Martin of Blakely, Pennsylvania; Jacqueline Brennan of Staten Island, New York; Irene Donnelly of Olyphant, Pennsylvania; Frank Donnelly and his wife, Gladys, of Brooklyn, New York; Joseph Donnelly and his wife, Pamela, of Shirley, New York; and Cindy Donnelly of Carbondale, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace; his siblings, Carlo, Tony, Vito, Rico, Johnny, Joe, Connie, Suzy, and Mary; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Stephen Martin, Thomas Brennan, Patricia Donnelly, and James Donnelly.

Rinaldo's family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the physicians, nurses, and staff of Wilkes-Barre Medical Center, the Veterans Administration, FirstLight Home Healthcare, and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the compassionate care they provided. They also offer their sincere gratitude to the dedicated pharmacy delivery drivers from Andrew Brown's Pharmacy and to his two exceptional caregivers, Michele Poyer and Irene Donnelly, whose kindness, compassion, and unwavering support brought comfort to Rinaldo and his family throughout his illness.

The funeral will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. from the Hudak-O'Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Carlo Acutis Parish, St. Patrick's Church, 200 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, New Jersey.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on Sunday, August 9, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Theresa (Littman) Borgna
July 7, 2026

Theresa (Littman) Borgna, 80, of Olyphant, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at The Gardens at Green Ridge, Scranton, following an illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Borgna, who passed away on July 8, 2004.

Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lucille (Youshock) Littman.

Theresa was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her close circle of lady friends. A loving mother and proud grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Above all, Theresa treasured the life she shared with her late husband, Frank, and the many memories they created together.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy Borgna, of Olyphant; her son, Frank Borgna and companion, Judy Wormuth, of Scott Township; her nephew, John Borgna, of Olyphant; three grandchildren, Hailey Owens, Brooke Borgna, and Kayla Wormuth; her sister, Linda Cherochak and her husband, Andy, of Jessup; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Thomas, and Edward Littman; and two sisters, Joan Sherman and Rose Sacco.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Gardens of Green Ridge, especially the Memory Care Unit. Additionally, a special thank you to Allied Services Hospice Unit.

Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.

Tyvon Amari Ash, 19, of Scranton, passed away tragically on June 28, 2026.

Born in Scranton, he was the beloved son of Phillip and Genese (Wayman) Ash. Tyvon was a 2025 graduate of Scranton High School and the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County.

A well-known, respected, and cherished member of the staff at Cooper's Seafood House in Scranton, Tyvon was remembered for his warm personality, gentle spirit, and unforgettable smile. Intelligent, ambitious, and wise beyond his years, he had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Family members often said he was talking before he was walking; a reflection of the bright and engaging person he would become.

Tyvon was a laid-back "gentle giant" whose kindness made others feel welcome and accepted. He never judged people and was often the first to befriend someone who needed a friend. He rooted for the underdog, valued genuine connections, and had a way of making others feel seen and appreciated.

He also had a tremendous love for food and would gladly travel any distance to try a favorite meal or discover something new. Known for taking pride in his appearance and personal hygiene, Tyvon carried himself with confidence and care. Above all else, he loved his family deeply and unconditionally. The love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

He will be deeply missed.

Tyvon is survived by his parents, Phillip and Genese (Wayman) Ash of Scranton; his siblings, Kamaya Sweeting of Olyphant, Shantese Ash of Philadelphia, Deshae Gilyard of Brooklyn, Phillip Ash Jr. of Scranton; his maternal grandparents, George (Pop-Pop) and Suzette (Nina) Wayman of Scranton; his aunts and uncles, Whitney (Ni-Ni) Wayman of Olyphant, Manuel Griffin of Scranton, Eric Griffin of Scranton, James Ash of Binghamton, Floyd Ash of Scranton, Darrell Freeman of Scranton, Tramaine Freeman of Brooklyn, and Renee Freeman of Brooklyn; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends, including Dyjeere Weeks, Tivoli Evans, and Brayden Green.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Flora Ash and James Hennegan, and by his uncle, Jamaal Freeman.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Tyvon's viewing, which will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hudak-O'Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 115 N. Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Cremation will follow.

Andrew "Andy" Poklemba
June 29, 2026

Andrew "Andy" Poklemba, of Blakely, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (Wysochansky) Poklemba. Andy earned his degree in Elementary Education from Pennsylvania State University and was formerly employed as an elementary school teacher.

Andy had a heart as big as his infectious smile and unforgettable laugh. He was, at heart, a big kid who never took life too seriously. He was known for sayings like, "It's not that deep," or "If a bad example is a good example, then I'm the best example." Yet, despite his playful humor, Andy was always a good example. He was kind, compassionate, loving, and generous; even when he had little to give. He accepted people without judgment and loved unconditionally. Although he battled his own personal demons, one thing that never wavered was his unwavering love for his family. They were always at the center of his heart.

Andy is survived by his daughter, Adrianne Poklemba, of Carbondale; his cherished grandchildren, Jayden Poklemba, Gabriella Poklemba, and Carter Cisneros; three sisters, Connie Kolosinsky and her husband, Bobby, of Throop; Joanne McGee and her husband, Barry, of Lebanon; and Rosemary Palazzari and her husband, Armond, of Scott Township. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his beloved son, Justin "Pokey" Poklemba, and his brother, Joseph Poklemba.

A blessing service will be conducted by Deacon John Musyt on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in Hudak-O’Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 115 N. Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. Family and friends are invited to attend Andy’s visitation which will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the blessing service at the funeral home. Robert J. Fasulo
June 18, 2026

Robert J. Fasulo, 70, of Childs, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 18, 2026. Nearly one year after the passing of his beloved wife, Marisa, and just over three months after the loss of his dear son, Nicholas, Robert has now joined them in eternal rest. Though their separation on earth was brief, they are together once again.

A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Robert enjoyed trips to the casino and treasured time spent with his family and beloved dog, whose loss he also mourned within the past year as well.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Neal and Elizabeth “Betty” (Ogden) Fasulo.

Surviving is his son, Michael Arcangeletti; his daughter, Janeen Fasulo; 8 siblings, Neal Fasulo, John Fasulo, Joe Fasulo, Billy Fasulo, Rose Jennings, Tony Fasulo, Mary Fasulo-O’Toole, and Jean Fasulo; several nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Neal and Betty; wife, Marisa, and his son, Nicholas, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ann Fasulo.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., at St. Carlo Acutis Parish, St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Ave., Olyphant.

Edmund J. Paoloni
April 29, 2026

Edmund J. Paoloni, 98 years young, of Olyphant, went to be a soldier of the Lord, on April 29. He was a prominent insurance agent, businessman, realtor and property owner in the Mid-Valley. Born and raised in Eynon, he was the son of immigrant parents, the late Geronimo and Alida Agostini Paoloni of Coccore and Sassoferrrato, Italy. He was the first in his family to graduate from high school and college.

A proud veteran of U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War and was stationed in Korea for 16 months. He used his GI bill to attend and graduate Lackawanna College in Accounting and where he met the love of his life and wife, Virginia Borick. Savvy in business and blessed in the art of salesmanship, and with the love and support from his dedicated wife, he built a successful and prosperous insurance agency for over 50 years.

Edmund was active in many organizations and affiliated with various associations. He held a fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus, Council 1095, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Italian American Club and Holy Cross Parish and held a variety of positions in those organizations. He especially enjoyed being a dance couple with his wife and as a member of the USA Dance Club where he appeared many times on the local television station. He tended to his gardens and vineyard with loving care. In recent years, he was a volunteer for Meal on Wheels and was constant donor to St. Francis of Assisi with fresh vegetables from his garden. He played in bowling leagues at Idle Hours and at his 80th birthday party he obtained a turkey while bowling with his family. He was also a regular at bocci with his friends, Attorney Steve Evers and Frank DeMatteo. The highlight of his career was when he was honored in Sassoferrato, Italy with the Premio Monte Strega in 2011 for his long-standing business career and his many affiliations with varied civic and social clubs.

His passions in life were his love and care for his family, being a hard-working man, and his garden and vineyard. His love for Italy and its culture led him to take countless trips to Italy with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. Until his last days he kept relationships with many of his first cousins who live in Italy. Travels to Italy stimulated his sense of adventure by taking many trips to other countries in Europe, South America, and Africa. He was a kind, gentle man who loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Edmund is survived by his loving daughter, Lora Lynn, grandchildren, Alisa Pearson, (Eric), Emily, Topalanchik, Michael Lynn and Thomas Lynn, and great-grandchildren, Cole, James, and Isabelle.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 65 years, Virginia Borick Paoloni, two brothers, Walter and Nello Paoloni, and two daughters, Attorney Paula J. Fisco and Virginia Ann Paoloni.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Clarks Summit Senior Living and Hospice of the Sacred Heart during Edmund's final time.

The funeral will be Saturday, May 9, 2026, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Carlo Acutis Parish, St. Patrick’s Church, 200 Delaware Avenue, Olyphant. Rite of Committal and inurnment will follow in SS Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, Peckville. All those attending Saturday’s funeral should report directly to the church.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hudak-O'Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 115 Garfield Avenue, Olyphant.

Lucille Marie Kuehner
April 29, 2026

Lucille Marie Kuehner, 77, of Taylor, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the beloved wife of Clemence Kuehner, Jr., with whom she shared more than 59 years of marriage.

Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Lucille was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Olive (Stein) Dezenzo. She had an appreciation for the Catholic tradition and held a special fondness for St. Ann. Lucille took great pride in her Italian heritage, embodying the strength, warmth, and spirit of what she often described as a “tough Italian Jersey girl.”

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved smiley faces—a fitting symbol of the warmth and happiness she brought to those who knew her. She also enjoyed visiting the casino, and most of all, being surrounded by her family. Lucille was especially known for her generosity and thoughtfulness, taking great delight in spoiling her grandchildren and giving meaningful gifts, particularly during the Christmas season.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving children: Lori Kuehner, Scranton; Bill Kuehner and his wife, Kimberly, Olyphant; and Tina Falbo and her husband, David, Spring Brook Township. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Billy Jr., Nick, Mark, Jessica, Olivia, and Gianna, and a cherished great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Amato, of Union, New Jersey, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Ryan Cafferty, twin sister, Nancy Blewitt, sister, Trish Girgenti, and brothers Thomas and Peter Dezenzo.

Family and friends are invited to attend Lucille’s viewing, which will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Hudak-O’Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 115 N. Garfield Avenue, Olyphant. A Catholic Blessing Service will be held at 6:00 p.m., with cremation to follow.

Irene (Harcharik) Hermanovich
April 20, 2026

Irene (Harcharik) Hermanovich passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 20, 2026, at her home with her family. She fought a courageous battle with cancer for the past year. She was the widow of Michael Hermanovich Sr. They were married for 54 years when he passed away February 23, 2009.

Irene was born and raised in Peckville; she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Adams Harcharik. She was a member of Saint Cyril and Methodius Church, River St., Olyphant PA.

Irene attended Blakely School District. She worked as a caregiver at the Mid Valley long-term facility and then Irene worked and retired from the garment industry, where she was a fabulous seamstress. She made wedding gowns and accessories.

Irene lived for her 2 children, 5 granddaughters, and 12 great grandchildren. Irene was full of life, she loved polka dancing, and camping. She took her granddaughters camping at Shore Forest campground for 20 years. If you knew Irene and heard her laugh, you knew it was her. She had a unique laugh, and it was contagious.

Irene was a fabulous cook. If you stopped at her house on any given day, before you knew it, there was a drink in front of you and food on the table. Equally as good as a cook was her companion of 13 years, Frank Zdancesavage. They met at a Polka dance and enjoyed going to Polka dances with their family and friends. Our family has been truly blessed by Frank’s compassionate, caring love for our mother.

We would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart, and the entire staff for their kind and compassionate care, as well as Dr. Lisa Robertson, her primary physician, for her care, support and guidance.

Surviving are two children: Michael Hermanovich Jr. of Archbald; and Christine Troiani and husband Salvatore Lake Ariel; 5 grandchildren, Amanda McCormick and husband Mark, Toronto; Thea Matrone and husband Dr. Alphonse, Waverly; Audrey Cieszkowski and husband Joe, Greenfield Township; Kayla Keltner and husband Kyle, Georgia; Kimberly Davis and husband Mark, Lake Ariel; 12 great grandchildren: Joey, Jaden, Alphonse, Alana, Ethan, Conor, Anya, Lawson, Kendra, Evie, Isla Rose, and Shepherd, plus numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters: Dorothy Borys, Mary Wronowski, Helen Schneider and brothers: John, Steve and Edward Harcharik.

The funeral will be Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. from Hudak-O’Shea & Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 115 N. Garfield Ave., Olyphant, with Requiem Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in SS Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 N River St, Olyphant, by the Rev. Nestor Iwasiw. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale.

Viewing will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
