First Alert 6 sat down with family this week to take us back to that day. Investigators also took us to a crime scene that seems unchanged from the 1980s.

Today is the day! For those who will be attending, here is a rough draft of what will happen. 5pm opening prayer by Big Mama aka Carolyn Fiscus, prayer song by Omaha Whitetail, opening statement by Lestina, sack lunches by Tradishish, honoring, open mic throughout for families to share, dancing, and raffle. There will be vendors selling things and a self care table hosted by Healing Ribbons to offer smudging and support- in case anyone needs to step away for a moment. There will be a Crisis Response table there to promote grassroots, boots on the ground work by Piama Anderson. We are very grateful to all community members, allies, advocates, non-Native supporters, and families who show up. It takes a community to do this work and for that I am always grateful for those who help❤️🖤💛🤍 Wopida tanka

Repost, we are less than 6 days away from coming together as a community to honor our relatives impacted by MMIP. We encourage all advocates, allies, survivors, friends, and partners in this movement to come together in a healing way to provide a safe space to bring awareness to the cause. As always, there will be an open mic for families. Free limited amount of t-shirts and sack lunch provided. Prayers into the universe for healing, hope, and comfort to all families🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
